With 6,500 languages spoken in our world today (English being only one of them), we rely on people who are able to read, write, listen, and or speak two or more languages to translate & communicate information in order to keep our world connected. If you think about it, you wouldn't be able to watch Japanese anime if it weren't for people who either dubbed or subbed it from Japanese to English (or another language). The same goes for Korean dramas: unless if you know how to listen to & speak in Korean, you wouldn't be able to understand a word of what the characters are saying without any subtitles. In today's climate, being bilingual not only allows you to be more attractive to an employer, but it also allows you to connect & communicate with others that know & understand the same language.

Ever since the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic last year during March of 2020 up until now, the United States has seen a 150% increase in anti-Asian hate crimes. With a surge in the use of racist rhetoric and behavior, many Asian-owned businesses have suffered significantly & members of the AAPI community have been targeted to be victims of harassment, assault, and violence. It's important for us to use our voices and speak up loudly to bring justice to the 8 individuals -- 6 of them Asian women, who lost their lives on March 16th in Atlanta, Georgia.
If you, a family member, or friend experiences a hate crime incident, make sure to report it at stopaapihate.org

Driving is just one of those unavoidable life skills that most people have to learn as we grow up. We rely on the notion of driving to get us from point A to point B -- but to be quite honest, some people just aren't very great at it (aka me). Join Kevin in this episode as he talks about everything 'driving' related. From the lengthy process of getting a drivers license at the DMV to parallel parking, he casually speaks about his anxiety that comes with driving on the freeway and how people tend to be judged by the car (or lack thereof) that they drive. There is no doubt that we see a lack of Asian representation in mainstream media. Join Kevin in this episode as he talks about his favorite Netflix reality TV show: Bling Empire! He discusses how the film industry is a business and it's all about making profit - movie producers propose their pitches to wealthy investors for the primary purpose of funding (because producing a movie or TV show is expensive). However, top hits such as Crazy Rich Asians and Bling Empire have pushed us in the right direction in terms of Asian representation in Hollywood. Have any comments or questions? We all grow up thinking that our intelligence is measured by the grades that we get in school. However, what we don't realize is that human intelligence levels can widely vary within different intelligence modalities, and is not something evaluated solely on a single general ability. Join Kevin in this episode as he talks about the multiple intelligences, some of which include linguistic intelligence, spatial intelligence, and interpersonal intelligence!
