DO YOU LIKE SCARY MOVIES?
We know you do, and so do we! We are Glenn and Jessica, two besties, and drive-in mutants, with a shared passion for the macabre, the grotesque and the ridiculous. When you’re home alone on those dark and stormy nights, we’ll let you know where you can tune in and find a chill to run up your spine. Every week we’ll watch and discuss two horror movies that you can watch at home, alone or with that special someone or someTHING.
We connect deeply with horror movies, which is a little disturbing if you think about it. So, we go off on plenty of tangents, side chats and rants along the way, before passing our final judgments and letting you know where you can find these terrifying treasures.
What kind of horror movies do we cover? Why, anything you can stream! From the dawn of Hollywood to today. From the grindhouse to the arthouse, from slashers to found footage, from serial killers to haunted houses, and from comedy to the truly deranged, if it’s on the net for you, it’s on the slab for us. We’ll unleash new episodes on the 1st Thursday of every month, so please, enter freely, of your own will, and leave some of the happiness you bring.

Tricks and Treats
HAPPY HALLOWEEN CREEPS!
The season comes to a close on this, the greatest day of the year. And we, here at streaming screams are dishing out tricks and treats as we close out the season!
First we start with the cult classic about the most Halloween town ever to Halloween on Halloween, with serial killers, werewolves, revenge-driven zombies, and the spirit of Samhain himself, Sam! This is a personal favorite of Glenn’s and the very definition of a cult classic:
Trick ‘r Treat
Then, we join an angsty teen metal-head as his quest for revenge against his bullies leads him to become the pawn of his devil-worshiping heavy metal rock idol hellbent on revenge against their mutual high school. Featuring a wonderful satirical performance by the pioneer of heavy metal, the Prince of Darkness himself, the immortal Ozzy Osbourne! We’ll raise the horns for:
Trick or Treat
Along the way we’ll talk about theater mishaps, being a better person, John Carpenter, how serial killers survive, awesome Halloween festival towns, teen angst, the singer from Flogging Molly, and the Satanic Panic.
So light up your jack-o-lantern, grab some candy, crank up the Black Sabbath and throw up those horns because we're going trick or treating on on this celebratory episode of STREAMING SCREAMS!
STOP IT!!
It was the most hated horror movie of 1982. It followed in the footsteps of the babysitter murders. It stalked right behind the infamous Michael Myers. It has gathered a significant cult following, yet still remains divisive to this day. It is
HALLOWEEN III: SEASON OF THE WITCH
Join us as we take a look at a movie that has a unique and original premise, but was disastrously mishandled when it was saddled with carrying the legacy of a legendary and revolutionary franchise. We’ll give some fun behind the scenes information, discuss the womanizing and alcoholic qualities of our hero, the movie’s uniqueness, the manufacturing of the masks, and the raw, animal magnetism of Tom Atkins. We also talk about Burning Man (which we unhelpfully don’t mention the name of), the trope of hating your spouse, victim identification, flirting at work and company towns.
Spooky Season Super Scary Screamtacular pt 1: Generational Warfare
Spooky season is here, and so is our second annual Screamtacular! In this first installment, we enter spooky season through the cornfields to find a killer clown stalking its prey, the youth of a small town fallen on hard times in:
Clown in a Cornfield
Find out what happens when generational tensions get out of hand with a killer clown on the loose, when cat videos and creepypastas collide with old-fashioned sensibilities, when the corn syrup runs dry and the clown’s bloodlust rises!
Along the way we’ll talk Children of the Corn, The Dark Tower, The Shining, bathroom destruction, book vs movie, and whether or not kids today actually COULD use a rotary phone! So get lost in the corn with us as we begin the countdown to Halloween in this episode of Streaming Screams!
If there’s one thing we all know, it’s that movies based on video games have a flawless track record of being AWESOME. So this week, we’re loading up the car and heading out to Glore Valley for:
Until Dawn
So join us, as we answer the age old question: what if Groundhog’s Day, but based loosely off of a video game structured like a chose-your-own-adventure movie? On this weeks episode of STREAMING SCREAMS!
Sponsored by: LIGHTS!
Strap on your space helmet, slap on some mysterious totally not hallucinogenic medical patches and get ready to blast off, because we’re going to space with Flying Lotus’s psychedelic cosmic horror:
ASH
What is going on with this weird planet? Why doesn’t our final girl have any survival instinct? Can someone primarily known as a rapper deliver the high concept sci-fi chills?
Along the way, we’ll talk about AI's role in film, the devaluation of art, the function of language and the utilization of Latin in English, what a dystopia is and whether or not pretty lights make something cyberpunk.
We’re about to go on one hell of a trip, so join us on this crazy episode of STREAMING SCREAMS!
GO TO SLEEP!
Get your safe word ready, sort your drugs, and make sure to have a hearty breakfast, because we’re going down the rabbit hole on a bonkers Lynchian and Tarantino-esque serial killer thrill-ride with:
Strange Darling
And it’s a strange one indeed! Featuring phenomenal performances from Willa Fitzgerald, Kyle Gallner and a host of wild and memorable side-characters, this movie relentlessly played with our perception and kept us guessing the whole way through. We’ll be talking about American gun culture, the line between homage and theft, constant shifts in how we see characters, nonlinear storytelling, kink, hyperrealism, the colors of the American flag, awkward one-night stands, coke vs ketamine, how race and gender play into perception, introducing dogs to cats and Jess’s wild adventure in trying to bring a girl home while Glenn and Jess were roommates.
After you listen to this one, go to our social media and answer some of the questions we pose in this one, because we had a lot of questions about riffles, high desert, etc.
It’s time to mess with our perceptions in this ultra-fun and thrilling episode of STREAMING SCREAMS!
Vampire Death Farts
Saddle up your horse, get your stakes ready, and load up on silver bullets. We ride at dusk with:
Death Rider in the House of Vampires
Join us as we venture into the world of Glenn Danzig on his sophomore film adventure. What happens when a horror punk and heavy metal legend decides to make a spaghetti western vampire move? Did Danzig learn anything from the dumpster fire that was Verotika? What have we gotten ourselves into? It can't be that bad, right? With names like Eli Roth and Danny Trejo, how could this movie go wrong?
How, indeed……
In 2022, we were hit with a quippy, sassy, children’s robot companion that took it’s roll of protector a little TOO seriously. This year, she’s back in:
M3GAN 2.0
The sequel to M3GAN takes a sharp turn when it comes to tone and genre. How did that work for the film? We went to the theater to find out! Well, actually, we just went to watch the movie, but we have thoughts, so we decided to share in this new Screening Screams bonus episode!
Wowsers
Break out the tuxedos, put on your best dress, swipe some booze from your parent’s liquor cabinet and get ready to spike the punch! We’re going back to Shadyside just in time for the 1988 prom night with
Fear Street: Prom Queen
In 2021 Netflix gave us a trilogy of fun movies based on R.L. Stine’s classic series of YA horror novels. This year, we finally got a 4th installment. How does it stack up? Does the movie maintain the spooky but quirky charm of the Shadyside curse? Are we in for a murder on the dance floor, or are we getting stood up?
IT’S PARTYTIME!
Alright ghouls, today is July 3, the most gloriously exalted day of the year, THE RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD DAY! And you know what movie we’re celebrating with, right? RIGHT?
THAT’S RIGHT! DO YOU WANNA PARTY? IT'S PARTYTIME WITH:
THE RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD!
We’ll be diving deep into the humor, the satire, and the attitude of the film. We’ll also talk a lot about music, punk and goth and metal, as well as novelizations, smoke’s effect on the human body, other zombie movies, nudity on TV, and all sorts of other fun things.
I’m Just a Little Gas Station Girl
I don't know about you guys, but we feel like we need a vacation. So let's head out to the forest with...
IN A VIOLENT NATURE
Join us as we take a look at a film that takes a bold perspective in its approach to the slasher genre! Does it live up to the hype? Does it live up to the hate? Is it just a standard 80s slasher homage or is it really a fresh take on a classic? Join us as we find out on this wild episode of Streaming Screams!
Shattered (Featuring Patrick Michael of Have Cheetah, Will View)
Sometimes a movie comes along and you have no idea what to expect from it. Sometimes, you are completely not ready for what you’re about to be hit with. Sometimes a movie with an unassuming title and little to no hype hits like a punch you just aren’t ready for. Sometimes, you sit down and find yourself watching something like
THE COFFEE TABLE
This week we’ll be joined by friend of the pod, Patrick from Have Cheetah Will View as we discuss the wildly bleak movie that he recommended to us.
Well, THAT was quick! We’ve got another surprise, the 2ND episode of our SCREENING SCREAMS series! While we were at it with Sinners, we decided to go ahead and talk about another movie we just saw in theaters:
Final Destination: Bloodlines
Does it hold up compared to the others? Join us as we go over the surprises, the laughs, and the final scene with the beloved and unforgettable Tony Todd.
The first episode in our Screening Screams series! This will be a little different. In this unscheduled bonus series, Jess and Glenn sit down for a more casual discussion of a movie they’ve just seen in theaters.
For this first episode, we discuss Ryan Coogler's Sinners! Does it live up to the hype? Join us to find out!
Start your engines and crank up the oldies! We’re going to revisit the movie that combines the talents of two of the most important figures in horror history, Stephen King and John Carpenter, while somehow disappointing them both:
Christine
We’ll talk about some of the unique characterizations, the origin of christine, some of the differences between the book and the film, some behind the scenes info, and the word “shitter.” Along the way, we’ll talk about trash movies winning acclaim at the Oscars, Jess’s hating the Rocky Horror Picture Show, musicals, movies from the 70s and 80s, greaser nostalgia, the banality of evil, and importantly, the fact that everything poops.
The Terror of the Tutu
The lights go down, a hush falls over the theater. Slowly, softly the strings of Swan Lake begin to fill the room, and a lone 12-year-old girl gracefully glides across the stage Into a gorgeously executed pirouette. Suddenly screams feel the air and blood seems to explode across the room from every direction!
Welcome to the home of:
ABIGAIL
Join us as we take a look at the last days of a band of dumb kidnappers who have picked up the wrong little girl!
Along the way we'll talk about concert ticket prices, yelling for songs at shows, Danzig, bad accents, bad ADR, differentiating aromatic root vegetables, and King Diamond. So grab a stake and some tights and join us in the bloodbath ballet that is this weeks episode of STREAMING SCREAMS!
Alone
What would you do if you were confronted by something absolutely incomprehensible? How would you handle it, if you looked up one day and found death staring you in the face? What if you had to face that, alone, while still surrounded by the people supposed to be closest to you?
On the other side, what would you do if you were supposed to be one of those people, closest to someone who needed you and it was too late? What would you do as their dark secrets came bubbling up to the surface. That’s what we’ll be dealing with this week as we look at the criminally overlooked Aussie mockumentary:
Lake Mungo
Join us as we take an intimate look at a family, already deeply divided, as they deal with the horrors of death, and the horrors of life, and the horrors of being haunted by survivor’s guilt, by loneliness, and just maybe, by a ghost.
Along the way we’ll touch on similarly deep concepts like, what do you do when your car is dying, or when you find out that your brother is secretly raising a kitten? How do we solve the epidemic of feline illiteracy? Do snitches REALLY get stitches? Can Glenn REALLY read your palm? How does Twin Peaks fit into all this nonsense?
Only one way to find out! Join us in a dream logic time loop of pixelated Australian ghost sightings on this engrossing episode of STREAMING SCREAMS!
The Silver Scream
This week, we'll go back to the seedy, sadistic and cutthroat world of Hollywood and take a look at what happens when you sell your body and soul for fame, fortune and glamor with:
Starry Eyes
Taking a different approach to some similar themes as The Substance and The Neon Demon, we examine life for a struggling actress with an evil cult on one side of her, and the most toxic group of theater kids on the other.
Along the way, we go all the way off the rails with the LA fires, conspiracy theories, generations, education, the evolution of the human mind vs the evolution of technology, California water, AI, movies with multiple directors, #MeToo, black metal and personal growth. Does it sound chaotic? It is, but we're having a damn good time on this bleakly glamorous episode of STREAMING SCREAMS!
Clip Show
In space, no one will hear you scream…or roll your eyes and groan. This week, Jess and Glenn sit down for the new Alien greatest hits album:
ALIEN: ROMULUS
We’ll talk about the physiological and social ramifications of hypersleep. We’ll try to track the increasingly complex reproduction cycle of the xenomorphs. We’ll tackle the biggest philosophical question posed by this movie: Is it possible to have too much fan service, too many references, and too many Easter eggs? The answer may just surprise you! Or it may not if you've seen this one.
