We're discussing two very different stocks today on Stock Club. One is the hottest stock on the market and one of the few companies being absolutely transformed by AI. Up 500% in the last year and almost 50,000% since 2022, this one is something you can't miss.
The other is a European microcap that you've almost certainly never heard of. The stock is due for a turnaround with new franchises coming to the fore and excellent customer feedback, this could be the high-risk, high-reward stock you've been waiting for.
Investicon is just one week away. This is your last chance to grab tickets. Some of the finest investing minds across stock-picking, AI, wealth management, and even whiskey are coming to the Irish Stock Exchange on August 21. Get your tickets here: https://www.investicon.ie/

Novo Nordisk faced another tough earnings season, with the stock falling 30% after it revised its growth guidance due to increased competition from Eli Lilly and the (now-illegal) compounders. This has brought the stock down to a tantalizing 12x earnings. Is this a great time to pick up shares, or are investors risking catching a falling knife? Novo is attempting to fend off the competition by launching its own direct-to-consumer Wegovy service in the United States, which will sell its drugs for $499 a month—less than half the previous cash price. Combined with a new management team, Novo has a lot of irons in the fire. Perhaps these efforts will bolster its long-term outlook.
Later, Emmet discusses the impact of AI investment on the broader economy. Emerging in the midst of the 2023 market downturn, the AI race has spurred an extreme infrastructure spending boom from tech companies, especially the Magnificent Seven. They’ve pumped $151 billion into the economy so far. Is it a bubble, or the new normal in tech?
Mike and Emmet also touch on Elon Musk's $30 billion pay day. Is this infamous CEO still worth the premium?

This week, Mike sits down with Emma Farrelly, a Qualified Financial Adviser (QFA) and Retirement Planning Adviser (RPA) from Future Financial Planning in Dublin.
Emma walks through what every twenty-something needs to know about saving for success, the risks of relying solely on property as an investment, and what auto-enrolment means for both employees and employers. She also gives her two cents on our sworn enemy — deemed disposal — and the broader Irish wealth landscape.
As a newly rich country, Ireland still has a lot to learn about building generational wealth but the tide is definitely turning.
If you’re Irish, you won’t want to miss this episode.

He was the host of the Motley Fool’s Money podcast, which began in 2009. Earlier this year, he launched Money Unplugged, where he interviews guests about their money stories, struggles, and financial insights.
Chris shares his favorite guest splurges and money regrets—highlights include fancy cars, commemorative popcorn buckets, and expensive rocks. You might be surprised which ones fall into each category.
He also reveals his three favorite investments to buy now and hold forever. Interestingly, there’s significant overlap with the portfolios of Emmet, Anne Marie, and Mike. Great minds think alike.

Clem is a self-described contrarian investor who seeks opportunities in inefficient markets. Tune in to hear his breakdown of why the U.K. stock market has fallen behind but is still a great place to find compounding stocks.
Later, Clem discusses the opportunity he sees in Intel. Despite being left behind by Nvidia, Intel’s manufacturing capabilities in Europe and the United States may make it an ideal acquisition target for chip rivals looking to secure themselves against geopolitical tensions.
Finally, hear why Clem has sold out of Bitcoin—despite being an early adopter—and learn about his three favorite investments right now.

The IPO market has been a barren wasteland since the carefree days of 2020. But this week, we bring you an IPO that might actually be worth a look.
Figma has released its hotly anticipated S-1, revealing a business firing on all cylinders—with double-digit revenue growth, a 132% net dollar retention rate, and, most notably, profitability. The company now hopes to extend its land-and-expand sales model beyond the UI/UX space, though that will introduce new competition. It’s also betting big on AI, while trying to not alienate the designers who have championed the brand, a delicate balancing act that a strong management team may just pull off.
Later, Emmet explores the impact of Trump’s ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ on Airbnb hosts. Thanks to new tax write-offs, becoming a short-term landlord just got a whole lot easier—and cheaper.

Anne Marie and Mike are back and they are here to pitch two big name stocks trading on the cheap.
First up: Novo Nordisk. The Ozempic darling soared in 2024, but tough competition from Eli Lilly and a tumultuous relationship with Hims & Hers has left this pharmaceutical in the bin. Mike goes over its latest troubles but reminds us that it’s a market leader in a rapidly expanding market. Should you pick up this discounted giant? Tune in to hear the full pitch.
Later, Anne Marie breaks down Nike. Her favorite stock for 2025, Nike is in the middle of a significant brand realignment resulting in some short-term pain. However, suffering may be coming to an end according to its latest quarterly report, and the market is beginning to warm back up to the long-suffering swoosh. Can the home of “Just Do It” beat the tariff blues?

While he doesn’t shy away from comparisons to the dot-com bubble, he still believes AI will be a life-changing addition to your portfolio.
Although AI-specific stocks aren’t cheap, there are plenty of indirect, “pick and shovel” plays that have caught his attention. Tune in to hear a few great ideas.

Bragging may be unbecoming, but Mike and Emmet are here to do just that.
As of this week, our international portfolio, Nexus II, is outperforming the S&P 500 by 20%. While macroeconomic uncertainty reigns in the U.S., international stocks are having a strong year. To celebrate, Mike walks you through the latest addition to Nexus II: Vitec Software Group.
It’s Swedish, growing rapidly, and resembles a young Constellation Software. What’s not to like?
The team has also prepared a research paper on why capital is moving abroad, whether this signals the end of American exceptionalism, and how it could shape your portfolio. It’ll be hitting your inbox in this week’s Stock Club newsletter—or you can request a copy here:
https://mywallst.com/the-sell-america-thesis
Later, Emmet unpacks three major biotech stories from around the world, including a powerful example of CRISPR technology in action.
If you’re looking for great international growth stocks to supercharge your portfolio, look no further than Nexus II.
Since its launch in November 2024, Nexus II has been trouncing the S&P 500.

The stock market is buzzing with developer and product conferences, and Emmet is here to break down his favorite release.
A long-standing member of the Horizon portfolio, Airbnb has announced a revival of its Experiences and Services segments. These updates target luxury consumers and aim to keep more travel transactions within the Airbnb platform. With its 15% take rate, this could strengthen Airbnb’s earnings during a period of slowing bookings caused by socioeconomic uncertainty.
Later, Mike discusses CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz. Though Kurtz has led CrowdStrike for more than a decade, he has recently been selling his stock, substantially reducing both his ownership stake and voting power. Mike explores whether this founding CEO might be planning an exit and what that could mean for CrowdStrike’s future.
Finally, we bring you a classic elevator pitch for a Swedish biotechnology company.

Feeling investment whiplash? So are we. The market has rebounded following Trump's revised tariffs, and we're here to unpack it. While this administration has shown it doesn't mind creating chaos, it clearly keeps a close eye on the stock market.
Speaking of déjà vu, Emmet analyzes the emergence of Haemanthus, a diagnostic startup from Billy Evans—partner of Elizabeth Holmes. While Holmes is the infamous, incarcerated founder of Theranos, Evans is determined to distance himself from the "Theranos 2.0" label.
Later, Mike examines Google's 9% stock drop following news of declining Safari searches. With the original search engine now trading at an attractive price-to-earnings ratio, should investors consider adding it to their portfolios?
Finally, Emmet explores CATL's forthcoming Hong Kong market debut. As a leading provider of lithium batteries for electric vehicles, CATL offers an intriguing entry point into the EV sector.

Piggybacking off last week’s episode, this week we bring a treat to all our Irish investors (and any investor looking for inexpensive diversification): stocks that act like ETFs.
Due to deemed disposal rules and a 41% exit tax, ETFs can be frustrating for Irish investors to access so these stocks offer an easy alternative. Let’s index without indexing.
Anne Marie pitches Markel Group, also known as the "Baby Berkshire", an insurance company that holds a diversified investment portfolio of large public companies, along with a venture wing focused on small- to medium-sized acquisitions.
Mike pitches JAM, a JPMorgan investment trust that is treated as an individual stock in Ireland, as well as Mitsubishi Corp and Investor AB. Mitsubishi is Japan’s largest trading company, with eight distinct business divisions, while Investor AB is a Swedish holding company with a stellar investing track record and a seasoned board.
Later on, Emmet delivers an excellent soliloquy on the nature of growth investing—and why he loves picking individual stocks.
During the episode we reference our previous episode “Stocks to Buy During Market Volatility” which features a breakdown of Berkshire. Hear the full podcast here:

Following our interview with financial planner Dave Quinn, Mike and Anne Marie are back to dive into ETFs. As one of the most important first steps for any investor—and the easiest way to harness the power of compounding—ETFs are well worth a closer look.
We cover brokerage options, ETF providers, types of ETFs, fee structures, and the impact of currency exchange. And yes, we hear you, Irish investors: deemed disposal unfairly eats into your gains. But we’re here to prepare you for the changes we hope to see in Budget 2026.
This episode is perfect for beginners aiming to build a strong investing habit, as well as seasoned investors looking to strategically diversify their portfolios.

You’ve heard about it on the news and in Reddit threads— this week, Mike and Emmet unpack the latest market trend: quantum computing.
In recent years, we've seen plenty of futuristic tech hit the market and generate serious hype with mixed results. Live streaming, the metaverse, and AI have all made their mark, fueling impressive runs in both small- and large-cap stocks. So, is there a way to catch the quantum computing wave before it takes off?
The answer: it’s complicated.
While quantum computing has existed in theory for decades, and headlines occasionally announce hardware breakthroughs, it's still a long way from generating revenue. That said, there are a few names worth watching that offer reasonable exposure to a field that will undoubtedly reshape our world.
Tune in as Emmet breaks down the latest developments in quantum tech and finally puts his physics degree to good use.

We’ve spent the last few years complaining about the Irish investment landscape. So this week, Dave Quinn from Investwise is here to discuss changes in Irish tax laws, the importance of habit building, and financial planning options for Irish people.
From teenagers to retirees, Dave talks about the importance of focusing on low-cost options and ensuring a disciplined, balanced portfolio. He also thinks the latest budget will bring an end to the Deemed Disposal Tax on ETFs (praise be). This would unlock passive, inexpensive investing for everyday people, a huge step forward for newly rich Ireland.
Tune in remind yourself to think long-term and the importance of having a financial plan.

Macroeconomic uncertainty continues to bubble, and global markets are selling off. From the NASDAQ to the FTSE 100, stocks are falling and investors are worried.
While you shouldn’t make any investment decisions during an emotional period, Emmet and Anne Marie break down one American and one European stock they’re watching, despite tariff and recession fears.
Anne Marie pitches French electronic shelf label (ESL) maker VusionGroup (VU) and American stronghold Berkshire Hathaway. Vusion is in the midst of a significant regional expansion, which is unlikely to be deterred, while Berkshire and Buffett are sitting on an eye-watering amount of cash, eager to deploy once the market calms.
Emmet pitches Swedish serial acquirer LifCo. With its business largely confined to Europe, it should dodge the tariff uncertainty. He’s also keeping an eye on Shopify.

The Trump administration appears poised to enact extensive tariffs against Canada, Mexico, China, and the European Union. This has triggered the stock market’s least favorite sentiment: uncertainty.
