Starlight Reunion is thrilled to welcome Chicago-based DJ, Brian Uvodić: bringing their love for house music to college parties, public beaches, and now, our weekly mix series! Inspired by the unifying power of house, Brian Uvodić creates mixes that get people moving and connect strangers through the magic of sound.
- What's Your DJ name? -
Brian Uvodić
- How long have you been DJing? -
8 Months
- Why did you get into it? -
There's nothing I love more than energizing others while mixing my favorite genres of music (house).
- What events have you played? -
College house parties, Fraternity parties, Graduation parties, Public spots (Oak St. Beach Chicago, etc.)
- Where are you from? -
Chicago, IL
- What inspires you? -
I'm inspired by how house music is bringing people together all over the world. I've seen it first hand, especially while mixing in public spots in/around Chicago, strangers congregating and dancing together is a beautiful thing.
- What genres are in your mix? -
Melodic house, Deep house, Tech house, Techno
- A few words about your mix? -
This mix follows my traditional mixing format, starting with more upbeat melodic/deep house, and than slowly transitioning into synth heavy tech house and techno throughout the mix. This mimics the dynamics of a crowd during sunset; starting with fun melodic dance tunes as the sun is setting, then as dusk turns to dawn slowly switching to more party and rave oriented songs.
- Who are some of the artists in your mix? -
Chris Stussy, Josh Baker, Matroda, Luuk Van Dijk, FISHER, Sean Lanigan, Angrybaby
- Where can people find more of you? -

Starlight Thursdays Episode 286 featuring 3lska in a live set recorded at the dance party series “Night Shift” located within Funk It coffee and thrift.
It’s always a treat to catch a set of this nature. 3lska uses vocoder, keyboard, synthesizer and drum machine to blend samples with his own live performance. Transitioning between classic tracks and live melodic rhythms and his originals. What a night to remember. The dance floor was filled with movement and uplifting energy start to finish.
Starlight Thursdays Episode 285 featuring PARRIS with another fire mix!!! “Beep boop! 🤖 The robot house is online, baby. You running diagnostics or throwing a party in the mainframe?” -PARRIS-
DnB Nite is a collaboration of MumbleBee, Pandaura, and local artists of Missoula, with the intention to celebrate and listen to all things jungle, dub, garage, and DnB.
It is held in whatever-venue-we-can-get, every whenever-we-have-the-time-and-gumption (usually once per year) This particular DnB Nite was hosted in February at Monk's Bar, with sound and promotion supported by Starlight Reunion and Backwoods Beats.
this recording was lost for a while, but recently unearthed and remastered. MumbleBee maneuvers through deep minimal basslines with melancholy pop overlays, halftime gut churners, and brain-scratching clickity-clackity sounds - really, what more can you expect from a MumbleBee DnB nite set?
You can check out a recording from DnB Nite 1 here --> https://soundcloud.com/user-115438481/dnbnite_1
And a recording of the mix that inspired MumbleBee and Pandaura to start DnB Nite here --> https://soundcloud.com/mumble_b33/mix4james?in=mumble_b33/sets/mix4u
Rumors speak of a 4th DnB Nite emerging this winter. Who can say when or where? but if you like DnB, keep an eye on the poster spots downtown and you might find yourself in a dark room with a big soundsystem, surrounded by likeminded folks who just can't get enough DnB.

Why did you get into it?
I like to party and listen to good tunes while I do it.
What events have you played?
I started playing at house parties then was invited to play at Monk’s with Chaddabox & Friends. In 2019 a group of close friends and I decided to throw our own mini festival and we named it Grease Camp 2012. We have hosted our Fest 5 times since it began. Grease Camp was invited to play and eventually host a stage at Forest Creatures in 2023(?). Most recently i played at Funkit Coffee in Missoula and it was such a fantastic event!
Where do you live (generally)?
Missoula, MT.
Where are you from originally?
Flagstaff, AZ.
What inspires you to DJ?
I really enjoy the ability to create a mood or vibe in a room or campsite full of people. Seeing people dance and smile during my sets is the best feeling.
What genres are in your mix?
Tech House, Bass House and Minimal Tech
Can you tell us a bit about your mix?
I was testing out some new genres with this one. I think it’s perfect to play at your next house party.

Starlight Thursdays Episode 278 featuring FOUTS
This is a deep house set that I designed for a 4 - 6 am sunrise set at this year’s Crazy Mountain Carnival. This is not the set I ended up playing at that event (check your USBs, kids!), but I learned so much that morning: how to graciously face challenges while on stage, how to vibe where you are planted, and how to fall back into celebration with community as a form of catharsis. Thank you to everyone for your continual love and support––what we are building together is truly something special <3

Starlight Thursdays Episode 274, DJ Philly Fresh is back with another fire mix UKG style.
“Garage music is one of my favorite genres to spin. It's just a delightful sandbox for Djs. There aren't that many other genres where the music is so ripe for opportunities to do lots of fun tricks but still complex enough to stand alone. Some genres feel either more like the canvas or the painting. UKG feels more like a thriftstore painting begging to be drawn on. I love that shit. Garage bangs."

This funk/contemporary disco mix was recorded live from Funk It in Missoula on a beautiful Saturday afternoon as a fundraiser for Missoula Pride. Thanks to everyone who came to listen, donate, dance, and just be together in one of my favorite Missoula spaces.
- Pandaura
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pandaura is my go to person when I need a DJ buddy. I can always count on him to hold the floor and elevate a space with his positive and welcoming aura. His humble and grounded approach to mixing serves as a solid foundation to his impeccable music selections, artistry, and craft-mastery.
Starlight Thursdays Episode 271 Featuring BK Love, Recorded live at the Top Hat.
It’s always such a pleasure to perform at this legendary venue. As of late my music selection brings us closer to the equator but maintains a trip around the world with tracks from so many nations and cultures under one roof. I recently discovered a genre called “Reggae House”. With my deep appreciation of all things Jamaican i was instantly hooked and listened to hundreds of tracks overnight. I chose a handful of my favorites and blended them in with my traditional selection as an homage to the originators of sound system culture that inspired what became the electronic dance music scene today. The music was received well as the room quickly grew into a dance party full of funky movement and energetic cheers. I live for these moments.
MumbleBee mixes live for Morning Blend, hosted by Funk It Coffee and Thrift!
We couldn't be more proud of our little DJ from Kalamazoo, who has been gracing the Missoula underground with a fresh and vibey injection of character and style since 2021. - Starlight Reunion
Another cup of vibrant and bold selections, with undertones of honey and sunlight - lightly roasted - sure to put a skip in your step, or a dream in your day. :3 - MumbleBee
Starlight Thursdays Episode 269 featuring Nes recorded live at Forest Groove. This was my first time attending the campout. I’ve known one of the organizers for some time. He came to our forest creatures campout year after year and drew a lot of inspiration from it. He and a group of friends decided to do something similar just north of Spokane Washington. I got to connect with a bunch of old friends from the Montana scene and met some new ones. The community was incredibly friendly. Catching Nes play his live electronic sets are always special. He generates sounds with a program he wrote and composes sets on the fly. It’s a unique style and performance worth checking out.
-BK Love-
Some words from our featured artist Nes.
“For this performance Ryan (part organizer of Forest Groove) asked me to play some driving techno - just to see what I could come up with using Beat DJ. It was a super fun set. It was my 4th and last set at Forest Groove 3. I started the set off with a song I co-created with my friends Alejandro and Kirby from Mars College called Electro Croaker which was a fusion of italo disco and industrial. After that the rest of the set was completely improvised. Techno to me is really about repetition and subtle evolution that induces trance states. It’s like a machine/engine running. This set was improvised using Beat DJ - you can download Beat DJ at soniare.net/beatdj”
