Ben and Adam accidentally told Grant to meet at the wrong bar, so it's just the two of them this week. After discussing the weekly news, the co-hosts jump into the first five issues of the Kylo Ren: Legacy of Vader comic. The amount of connection and backfilling that Charles Soule is able to do between Episodes VIII and IX is astonishing.
After 4 years of incredible books, short stories and comics, we at long last come to the end of this sprawling narrative achievement known as The High Republic initiative. Please enjoy our review of the culminating, final novel, ‘Trials of the Jedi,’ by the brilliant, Charles Soule.
We are the Republic!
This week, the cantina crew continue their roundtable discussion of The High Republic initiative and review the final four issues of High Republic: Adventures. After their review of the comics, the team performs a broad analysis of the Star Wars brand and gauge each other’s interest in upcoming projects and the creatives working on them. For light and life!
The cantina crew prepare for the final novel in the High Republic initiative by holding council and discussing the entirety of the High Republic narrative thus far. Next week, the team will review the final four issues of ‘The High Republic Adventures’ comics and give their first impressions of ‘Trials of the Jedi’ before a final review the following week.
Ben, Grant and Adam return to their coverage of The High Republic books with their review of ‘Into The Light’ by the luminous legend, Claudia Gray! Before ascending into the blight-infested Worshyyr trees to breakdown the book, the cantina crew contemplate R-rated Star Wars and react to some newly shared info about ‘Maul: Shadow Lord.’
This week, the gang gathers in the cantina to review Tales of the Underworld. Asajj Ventress returns from the dead, and the origin of Cad Bane is finally explored!
The final three episodes of Andor are out now on Disney+, and we couldn’t be more thrilled with how Tony and his talented team brought this story to a close. What was once declared a TV series about a mysterious and elusive spy from Rogue One has now become the foundational tale of the Rebellion itself. Come home to yourself, and join us as we discuss all that happened in the three-episode finale and share in all the fun that is talking Andor one last time. May the force be with you.
Much like a force healer, we feel the weight of things in the pressurized, penultimate arc of Andor Season 2. From the harrowing Ghorman Massacre to Mon’s stirring speech and courageous move to name Emperor Palpatine as a monster and force of evil in the galaxy, we discuss it all and even connect the dots to the rest of the canon established in Rogue One and Rebels.
The light is blinking, and that means it’s time to leave the safehouse and pod about Andor! This week, we dig into episodes 204-206 and parse through all the character arcs and events. Early in the episode, Grant shares a major theory about our favorite Antiquarian. This is a Cantina Chronicle you will not want to miss!
Sagrona Teema! Saddle up to the bar, grab a nog, and join us in a toast to the fallen. With Grant shipwrecked and stuck in the middle of two warring factions, Ben and Adam discuss all things episodes 1 - 3 of Andor Season 2. Listen as we dive into"One Year Later," "Sagrona Teema," and "Harvest."
We are excited to be back in the cantina to breakdown all the latest news and reveals from Star Wars Celebration 2025! Aside from discussing both the new and returning projects promoted at the event, we also take some time to discuss the many insightful interviews and panels that also took place over the weekend!
Episode 86 - The Forest Gump of Star Wars
We’re back in the cantina to discuss the latest Star Wars news and also share our predictions for possible reveals and announcements at the upcoming Star Wars Celebration in Japan. We also stumble on the idea that Darth Maul may well be the Forest Gump of Star Wars! All these topics and more on this week’s episode of Cantina Chronicles!
This week, the cantina crew celebrate the return of Andor with an Andor-themed draft! All three hosts draft both a Rebel Strike Team and an Imperial Response Force to meet those rebels in battle. After they make their picks and share their lists, you will be the judge of who assembled the most effective team. Enjoy!
