It's a prize every footballer wants to win, but most don't. Lionel Messi is a champion! A heart-stopping final at the Lusail Iconic Stadium saw Argentina almost lose the plot. Leading 2-0 till the 80th minute, it seemed a done deal. Enter Kylian Mbappé. And a repeat of this script happened in extra time too! The resulting penalties, though, worked in favour of Argentina and Messi capped an incredible career with the biggest prize in football. In other sporting news, Australia and South Africa played out a farcical Test at the Gabba that lasted two days while India had an easy time of it against Bangladesh in their opening Test.
