He is also the first centurion in the history of the quadrennial event.He is now the 8th Indian to bring up a hundred in T20Is after Suresh Raina, KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill.
