In the concluding part of this 1988 talk, Dr. Harbhajan Singh goes deeper into the spiritual science of self-realization and the practical path back to God. He speaks about the radiant form of the Master, the seat of the soul between the eyebrows, and how to rise above body consciousness to experience the holy Light and Sound.
Dr. Harbhajan Singh shares striking comparisons between different yogic paths and explains why only the guidance of a competent Master—who never claims to be a master—can lead us beyond the astral into the true home of the soul. With clarity and humility, he unveils the hidden reality of spiritual life and encourages each of us to develop the higher value of life, not merely through belief, but through direct inner experience.

In this first part of a 1988 talk, Dr. Harbhajan Singh shares deep insights into the purpose of human life. He explains that the man-body is not only the highest rung in creation, but also the only vessel through which we can solve the mystery of death and realize the Godpower within. Through stories, scripture references, and spiritual analogies, Dr. Harbhajan Singh invites us to rise above body consciousness, overcome illusion, and open the third eye—the seat of the soul.
He clarifies the distinction between theory and practical spirituality, warns of the illusions created by the mind and senses, and emphasizes the uniqueness of a competent spiritual Master’s guidance. The talk offers a direct call to self-introspection and awakening: to go within, recognize the divine Light and Sound, and begin the true art of life.

In this heart-to-heart talk, Dr. Harbhajan Singh speaks about things that are more valuable than any worldly wishes. While the latter are temporary, the higher values of life are ever-lasting. So, he requests us to decide for a good life and rediscover the spiritual heritage that lies deep within us. This is possible if we never cease to learn, to be focused on the goal and to render selfless service to humanity and to the Creator.
The recording was done on 15th June 1990 in Calw, Germany.

God is consciousness, bliss and everlasting joy. We, the soul, are a part of Him. So all happiness and joy are hidden within us. As long as we seek this happiness in
perishable things, which are not permanent, we will never be contented. Sant Kirpal Singh explains that to get in contact with the inner happiness, three preparatory steps are needed.

The great Saints always address us as ‘children of light’. Why are we no more aware of that light? Our soul has identified with the body, and our attention, the outward expression of the soul, is flowing out through the senses. We have become a 'jiva', a soul that is under the control of the mind. Sant Kirpal Singh explains how our soul can be unchained and connected with the light of God and the music of the spheres, the two aspects of the God-into-expression Power.

If one realizes how the soul is connected to the Godpower within, the angle of vision changes. Then one lives in a spirit of detachment and will focus on returning to the home eternal. Despite love being a subject beyond words, there are some examples of worldly lovers who can inspire us to reach out for a life in love for God.

God is love and love is God and the way back to God is also love. Love is the essence of life. It is not enough to talk about love, we must embody it in our lives, beginning in our own homes. In the family we can develop each other by cultivating spiritual values and leading a disciplined and truthful life. This will draw all closer to the inner source of divine love. To lead a spiritual life we do not have to separate ourselves from the world like a monk or follow some new tradition, but have an inner detachment. This can be compared to a boat, which is in the water, but water does not enter the boat.

Explaining love is difficult, and it is even harder to talk about love for God. Dr. Harbhajan Singh is able to do so, and speaks about the love for God who is within us, and also for his great teacher, his
Master Sant Kirpal Singh. The term “Master” refers to the “Masterpower,” which is also called “the
Word.” This Word is hidden inside all of us and sustains the entire creation. A perfect Master is one
with the Word; he embodies it. This power radiates from him in the form of love, reaching from his
soul to ours. This kind of love is different from what we are used to — it is limitless and selfless.
People who have experienced it often compare it to the effects of wine, but instead of dulling our
consciousness, it awakens our inner self.

The Path in the Middle
In this episode, Dr. Harbhajan Singh explains the journey of the soul to its eternal home. He provides advice for the road to be travelled and warns of the pitfalls. With multiple references to the teaching of Christ, he shows that spirituality is not something new but an age-old science that just needs to be re-discovered.
“When the barriers are finished, there is the 10th gate.”

In this episode, Sant Kirpal Singh speaks about the nature of our soul and whom we should love. Our soul shares the same essence as that of God – it is called consciousness. Instead of being constantly attached to our relatives, friends, work, society, nation, or opinions, we should connect with our divine source.
Sticking to our limited circle makes us narrow-minded. When our love expands to embrace an all-conscious and all-pervading God, we will have respect and true love for everyone. In this way, the solution to today’s political and social problems begins at the individual level with the development of personal consciousness. This will bring hope for peace on earth.
This is one of several talks given by Sant Kirpal Singh in the mornings in Delhi between 1967 and 1968. Even though the sound quality is not very high, these talks are of great value because they give many practical hints that help us progress spiritually. They are published in the book under the title "Morning Talks" and are available as PDF files on the websites:

Dr. Harbhajan Singh emphasizes in this talk that death is an inevitable part of life and encourages preparation for this reality. The human body, though temporary, houses an eternal soul linked to God. Recognizing this connection helps fulfill our true purpose. True consciousness arises when the soul is freed from the mind's faculties, guided by the divine sound current back to its eternal home.
The body is seen as a divine temple, and fulfilling worldly duties without attachment is crucial. A true Master guides the soul to transcend body consciousness and achieve enlightenment. Death is a transition, not an end. Embracing this truth leads to a meaningful life and realization of our divine nature.

In a powerful public talk in Munich, Dr Harbhajan Singh distilled the essence of spirituality and emphasised the importance of embodying its principles in everyday life. He explained that true spirituality emanates from the teachings of the great spiritual Masters and transcends geographical and time barriers. This sacred knowledge serves as a unifying force, connecting every individual and living being in the universe at its core. Beyond mere understanding, however, lies the sublime art of living – a path that elevates human existence to its highest potential.

This is the second part of the heart-to-heart talk with Dr. Harbhajan Singh the day after a public lecture entitled “Meditation – its possibilities and dangers”. It is a selection of interesting questions about various aspects of spiritual life: i.e. whether it is needed to have a religious or philosophical background to lead a spiritual life, why there are wars and so many bad happenings in the world, what happens at the time of death or during near-death-experiences, whether going down into the Chakras is of any use for the soul, what is the effect of entering into the astral plane and what is a real spiritual experience according to the spiritual Masters like Christ, Guru Nanak or Kabir.
The talk was recorded on 22nd May 1995 in Stockholm, Sweden

This is an insightful part of a question-and-answer session with Dr Harbhajan Singh, following an introductory lecture he had given the day before.
The premise of this informal talk is that self-knowledge precedes God-knowledge - the aim of human life. The approach to it should not be mistaken with the various methods of meditation offered today, but needs the help of someone who knows the inner regions and the dangers therein. To enter in the astral region is easy, but of no help to the soul – on the contrary, astral experiences make emotional and often cause mental diseases.
Spiritual life means to be in a state of equipoise. A real Saint makes no show of his competence. He furthers the consciousness and right understanding, which creates yearning to reach the homeland of the spirit and meet the Lord.
The lecture was recorded on 22nd May 1995 in Stockholm, Sweden.
