Shu Hua Xiong (b.1994) born in Shanghai, China, currently lives and works in New York. She holds both BFA and MFA from School of Visual Arts in NYC. Her first solo in NY opens on Sep.4, with Island Gallery.

Episode 487 / Logan T. Sibrel 

Logan T. Sibrel (b. 1986; Jasper, Indiana) is a Brooklyn-based painter. He received his BFA from Indiana University in 2009 and his MFA from Parsons the New School for Design in 2011. He has exhibited at Kornfeld Gallery in Berlin, Beers London, Vardan Gallery in Los Angeles, Monti8 in Rome, Eleftheria Tseliou Gallery in Athens, 1969 Gallery and Auxier Kline in New York, and is represented by Galerie Thomas Fuchs in Stuttgart. He has participated in the Palazzo Ventidue Artist Residency in Nardò, Italy, The Palazzo Monti Artist residency in Brescia, and the inaugural Wildfjords  Artist Residency in Ísafjörður, Iceland. One of his paintings was used for the cover of Brandon Taylor's The Late Americans, and he illustrated Meg Remy's book Begin by Telling. Aside from visual art, he is 1/2 of the Brooklyn-based band, Sister Pact.

Mathew Zefeldt (b. 1987, California) is Associate Professor of Painting and Drawing at the University of Minnesota. He received his MFA in studio art from UC Davis in 2011 and received his BA in Art at UC Santa Cruz in 2009. He has had solo exhibitions at The Hole, NY; Celaya Brothers, Mexico City; Hair + Nails, Minneapolis; Big Pictures, Los Angeles; 5-50 Gallery, Long Island City; The Soap Factory, Minneapolis; Circuit 12, Dallas; Verge Center for the Arts, Sacramento; Minneapolis Institute of Art, Minneapolis; Hap Gallery, Portland; and Santa Monica Museum of Art, Santa Monica. Episode 484 / Léni Paquet-Morante

Léni Paquet-Morante (1962) is an artist based in New Jersey. Motivated by process driven imagery in paint, sculpture, and printmaking projects, her abstractions reconfigure familiar landscape elements, extracted then rearranged in a manner that speaks to the architecture of memory. Born in Canada, Léni is a Hamilton, New Jersey based artist. Recent recognition includes a New Jersey State Council on the Arts Finalist Grant for Painting in 2024; residencies at Vermont Studio Center Residency for Painting in 2024 and Peter’s Valley Visiting Artist Residency for Printmaking in 2023. Recent solo exhibitions include Princeton University Art Museum’s Bainbridge Gallery scheduled for summer of 2025. She earned a BFA in painting from Mason Gross School of Art in1992 and studied bronze casting techniques at the Johnson Atelier Technical Institute of Sculpture from 1984 to1985. Her current show Extract / Abstract, Landscape a& the Architecture of Memory at the Princeton Univeristy Art Museum is up until November 9th. 

Episode 483 / Steven Cox

Steven Cox (b. 1986, Aberdeen) is a Scottish artist who lives and works in Edinburgh, Scotland. He holds a BA in Painting from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, University of Dundee, and an MA in Curating and Contemporary Art Theory from the University of Edinburgh.

Cox is known for his vibrant abstract oil paintings, which explore materiality and mark-making. Over the past decade, he has developed a distinctive process involving the transfer of thick layers of oil paint onto canvas using plastic sheets. His work is deeply informed by an interest in the built environment, topography, and defaced surfaces, resulting in a visual language that oscillates between colour field painting and abstract expressionism. Cox is represented by Halsey McKay Gallery in New York. He has held numerous solo exhibitions internationally, including at Halsey McKay Gallery and A Hug From The Art World (New York, USA); Galerie Jérôme Pauchant (Paris, France); Annarumma Gallery (Naples, Italy); and Galleri Benoni (Copenhagen, Denmark). He has also exhibited in various international group exhibitions and artist residencies. Bella Foster was born in Los Angeles, CA in 1975 and lives in Grass Valley, CA. She received a Bachelor of Fine Art from the School of Visual Arts in New York, NY. Solo exhibitions of her work have been presented at Marinaro Gallery, New York, NY (2021), The Pit, Los Angeles (2018 & 2020 & 2024), Canada, New York, NY (2017), South Willard, Los Angeles, CA (2015), and Art Since the Summer of 69, New York, NY (2010), and a two-person exhibition with Elwyn Palmerton was presented at Southfirst, Brooklyn, NY in 2008. Debbi Kenote is a painter who lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. She holds an MFA from Brooklyn College and a BFA from Western Washington University. Her recent solo and two person exhibitions include Baker-Hall in Miami, Duran Contemporain in Montreal, Cristin Tierney in New York and My Pet Ram in New York. Selected group exhibitions include Kate Werble in New York, Fir Gallery in Beijing, Cob Gallery in London, Hawkins Headquarters in Atlanta and SOIL Gallery in Seattle. She has been an artist in residence at Stove Works, The Ucross Foundation, PLOP, the Saltonstall Foundation, Vermont Studio Center, DNA, Nes, CAI Projects, and the Mineral School. Her work is part of the permanent OZ Art Collection and has been featured in The Art Newspaper, Art Fuse, Maake Magazine, Suboart, Art of Choice, Two Coats of Paint, and Hyperallergic. Julie Curtiss was born in 1982 in Paris, France and lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. She studied at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-arts, Paris, during which time she undertook two exchange programmes; one at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste, Dresden and the other at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Curtiss graduated in 2006 with a BA and MFA. Butt Johnson (b.1979, Ramapo, New York) earned a BFA in painting from RISD and received a Pollock-Krasner Fellowship in 2010. His work is included in the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, the Spencer Museum of Art in Lawrence, KS and the RISD Museum. He is a founder and partner in the Klaus von Nichtssagend (Neek-saa-gundt) Gallery in New York. He has exhibited at the Luther W. Brady Art Gallery at George Washington University, the Abrons Art Center and CRG Gallery, both in New York.

Seline Burn (*1995, Switzerland) is a contemporary artist recognized for her evocative figurative paintings that merge personal memories with art historical motifs. Her work explores how everyday objects, relationships, and artistic traditions shape our perception of the world. By intertwining elements of her personal experiences with broader social and historical contexts, Burn invites viewers to question the cultural norms that influence visual representation.

Her artworks are marked by a nuanced exploration of how cultural heritage shapes our understanding of the familiar. Through visually striking compositions, Burn encourages engagement on multiple levels, offering both aesthetic appeal and thoughtful reflections on the interplay between tradition and contemporary experience.

Zak Prekop (b. 1979, Chicago) is a Hudson Valley-based painter known for his intricate, nonrepresentational works. He holds an MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a BFA from Carnegie Mellon University. Prekop has had solo exhibitions at Maxwell Graham Gallery, New York; Galería Marta Cervera, Madrid; Shane Campbell Gallery, Chicago; and Hagiwara Projects, Tokyo. His work is held in collections at the Walker Art Center, the Columbus Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art and the Carnegie Museum of Art. Episode 474 / E.E. Kono

E.E. Kono is a multidisciplinary artist based in Iowa and Los Angeles. She is best known for her vibrant egg tempera paintings which blend elements of Renaissance art with mythological, and religious imagery. Utilizing historically significant materials such as silverpoint and locally sourced earth pigments, her work explores the connection between place, culture, and storytelling. Her art is characterized by its meticulous technique and thoughtful incorporation of symbolic elements. E.E.’s artistic practice explores the intersection between ancient traditions and contemporary issues within the context of global interconnectedness.

A self-taught painter, E.E. studied art history at the University of Iowa (Iowa City, IA) and the University of Hull (Kingston Upon Hull, England). Her work has been exhibited internationally and in notable venues including Bergdorf Goodman in the “A Room Just So”, curated by Natasha Roberts, and Future Fair 2025 with Elijah Wheat Showroom, The Riverside Art Museum in California, and FORMah. She has had solo exhibits at the Dubuque Museum of Art, La Luz de Jesus, and Gallery 825. Her paintings have been covered in Beautiful Bizarre Magazine, American Art Collector, Arts to Hearts Magazine, and Juxtapoz magazine. Additionally, she is an award-winning author and illustrator with over a dozen books published by major trade houses. Her book illustrations are in the collection of the Mazza Museum in Ohio. She participated in the Wassaic Project 2025 Winter Residency. 

Episode 473 / Sarah Martin-Nuss (b. 1992, Corpus Christi, Texas) is an interdisciplinary artist working across painting, drawing, performance, and sound. Her work draws from biological systems, philosophical post-humanist thought, and the intricate web of ecological relationships, exploring themes of interconnectivity, transformation, and time. 

Martin-Nuss received her MFA in Painting and Drawing from Pratt Institute in 2024 and her BA in Fine Art and English Literature from Austin College in 2014. Martin-Nuss also studied visual arts at the Collège International de Cannes in Cannes, France and performance, sound, and video art at the School of Visual Arts in New York. In addition to her visual arts education, Martin-Nuss trained with the Meredith Monk Ensemble and is the producer, songwriter and vocalist for the avant-pop duo Dancing In Tongues. 

Her recent solo exhibitions include Future Currents, Rachel Uffner Gallery, New York, New York (2025); Pouring Water Into Water, Rachel Uffner Gallery, New York, New York (2024); and Open Systems, Prince & Wooster, New York, New York (2023). Episode 472 / Cameron Martin

Cameron Martin is an artist based in Brooklyn. He received his BA from Brown University and continued his studies at the Whitney Independent Study Program. He has exhibited at venues including the Whitney Museum, Saint Louis Art Museum, Columbus Museum of Art, City Gallery (Wellington, New Zealand), and Tel Aviv Museum. His work is included in the public collections of the Buffalo AKG Art Museum, Buffalo, NY; The Minneapolis Institute of Art, Minneapolis, MN; the Saint Louis Art Museum, St. Louis, MO; and The Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, NY, among others. Episode 471 / Lee Moriarty

Lee Moriarty is an artist and a professional wrestler. Lee was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA and studied graphic design at CCAC. He is self-taught in the area of painting and his presentation at NADA Miami last year in collaboration with Orange Crush marks his public debut as an artist.

Lee’s work often depicts wrestlers in repose, including intimate portraits of luchador icons like El Santo and Blue Demon. His art reflects an often underexplored duality within the lives of pro wrestlers, resonating with his own explorations in sports and art.

In wrestling he is a professional wrestler with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and sister promotion Ring of Honor (ROH). Moriarty currently holds the title of ROH Pure Champion.

Episode 470 / Lucio Pozzi

Lucio Pozzi was born in 1935 in Milan, Italy. After living a few years in Rome, where he studied architecture, he came to the United States in 1962, as a guest of the Harvard International Summer Seminar. He then settled in New York and took the US citizenship. A pioneer in working concurrently across different media, Pozzi has presented videotapeworks at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and watercolor landscapes at the John Weber Gallery in New York, regarded in its day as the “temple of Conceptualism.” He has shown work in Documenta 6 (1977) and at the Venice Biennale (U.S. Pavilion) in 1980. He occasionally writes and has taught at Cooper Union, the Yale Graduate Sculpture Program, Princeton University, School of Visual Arts and Maryland Institute College of Art, among other art schools in the US and Europe. His work is included in the collections of major international museums and private institutions and collectors. He currently lives and works in Hudson, NY, and Valeggio s/M (Verona) Italy.

Episode 469 /  Amy Bravo is an artist who lives and works in New York. After completing a bachelor’s degree in Illustration at Pratt Institute, New York, she obtained a Master of Fine Arts in Painting at Hunter College, New York in 2022. Recent exhibitions include group shows with Rachel Uffner Gallery, Workplace, and The FLAG Foundation, as well as a solo show at Nada Miami with Swivel Gallery and a duo show at Swivel Gallery, New York, in 2022. She was also a resident at the Fountainhead Residency in Miami in 2022.
