In BIG little house, award-winning architect Donna Kacmar introduces twenty real-life examples of small houses. Each project is under 1,000 square feet (100 square meters) in size and, brought together, the designs reveal an attitude towards materiality, light, enclosure and accommodation which is unique to minimal dwellings. While part of a trend to address growing concerns about minimizing consumption and lack of affordable housing, the book demonstrates that small dwellings are not always simply the result of budget constraints but constitute a deliberate design strategy in their own right.
Imran Ahmed interviews Edison Chu, an architecture student, aspiring motivational speaker, and honorary professor. Edison advocates for both mental and physical health, and letting go of pride to help others become the best they can be.

Amber Quinn interviews the Program Coordinator of History, Theory, and Criticism of Architecture at the University of Houston. He speaks about the book he co-wrote, “Heroic: Concrete Architecture and the New Boston,” and about the many different routes beyond traditional practice available to students in design. He holds a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts–Amherst, M.Arch from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, and a Ph.D. in History, Theory, and Criticism of Architecture from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. All testimonies included were recorded independently, and feature varied viewpoints and experiences relating to the creation and response to the Open Letter, which was inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement of 2020.
