Steve has been recruiting for 17 years. He has placed over 800 individuals into permanent roles in the UK. Podcast host of 'The Guestlist with Steve Guest', Amazon best-selling author across multiple categories for “Top Biller – The Life of a Recruiter” (globally the highest reviewed recruitment book on Amazon), and founder of the online recruitment training platform - “12 Week Recruitment Mastery Programme” – training recruiters on a global scale, Steve is still recruiting (the doing), but also now mentoring, coaching and teaching.
We ask when did Steve realise he could do this, and what attributes he sees in his kids that could make them recruiters too! Steve talks about the importance of being early for everything, what separates successful recruiters (such as organisation, consistency, integrity, and honesty) and what pushed him into driving his book sales. Steve knows his why, and he embraces sharing his journey and giving value now.

We unpacked the journey of Hexis, the mission of Hexis - and how it has changed with customer input, scaling, and the team. David explained live energy and carb coding from the innovative app - and behavioural change.

Today we spoke with Daragh Fleming - Writer and award-winning mental health activist
Daragh Fleming is an author, freelance writer, and award-winning mental health blogger from Cork, Ireland. He has an MA in Linguistics, a BA in Applied Psychology, and a head full of notions as he says. Daragh has a passion for normalising the chat around mental health, and is the founder of Thoughts Too Big, a blog and enterprise that focuses on overcoming daily mental health issues. Daragh shared with us his traumatic personal story about why mental health is what he writes and speaks about - also, why that period paved the way for him to study the mind in university.
He explained his current 'writer in residence' role in Spain, and what his writing process looks like. We unpacked where he finds inspiration for poetry, fiction and nonfiction, what trains had to do with writing, some of his most popular blogs on mental health - and his charitable support for Pieta House, Crisis Helpline, etc. He explained the meaning behind his motto 'be sound and drink water', and how to recognise if someone is struggling with their mental health. Damian Browne has just rowed 5000 km across the Atlantic Ocean from New York to Galway, after 112 days at sea.

He ended up in Christchurch, New Zealand, where he settled and created his High Performance Leadership Programme - lead yourself, lead others, lead always, with guests such as Kieran Read and Steve Hansen, former captain and head coach of the All Blacks. James works with elite players as a mental skills coach with Canterbury Rugby, and with executives in relation to purpose, habits, and overall leadership development.

Today we spoke with Dr Ford Dyke - Human Performance Consultant
Dr. Dyke collaborates globally with high-level performers such as corporate executives, elite athletes, physicians, academicians, first responders, and military personnel. His methodology integrates components of his Professorship at Auburn, Team USA Athlete career in handball (which he unpacked for us!), and experience as a performance coach for the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee. Dr. Dyke's education, professional experience, and personal journey led to the creation of his own brand and ethos, which is a multidimensional space for the human experience.

Craig is a high performance consultant for World Rugby, supporting tier 2 nations like Chile, who recently beat the USA to qualify for RWC 2023. He is a mentor to elite performance coaches and teams and the founder of 'Men Without Masks', a transformation programme and community. Craig was the WRU National Squad Physical Performance Manager, a strength and conditioning coach for the British and Irish Lions in 2005 and 2009, and has worked for other teams like Leicester Tigers, Wasps and the IRFU.

Ben had to retire from professional rugby prematurely due to a severe neck injury. Here's the story about what he's done since, and why he went this way...examining team cohesion and teamwork indices that contribute to consistent winning and on-field success. Ben propped for the Brumbies and the Wallabies, before embarking on analytics and forward coach positions with teams such as Western Force, Melbourne Rebels and Suntory in Japan. His company, Gain Line, founded in 2013, is changing the game around data analytics revealing that great teams are the product of the connections and linkages within.
There is a wonderful dialogue around the structural layers that drive cohesion in teams, namely shared experiences, combinations and the overarching system - one for pro sport and business. As distinct from other operations and management consultancies in the industry, Gain Line places a strong focus on data analysis and quantitative research. Today we spoke with Cameron Schwab - CEO for 25 years in AFL, Leadership mentor and Founder Design CEO
Cameron had the most impressive studio we have seen - a fireplace, AFL memorabilia and a classy ambience; it gave an inside peek into the world of Cameron…class, and quality. Cameron, an artist, storyteller, and writer, has been a CEO for 25 years with experience with Melbourne Football Club, Richmond, Fremantle Dockers - and leading the AFL also as CEO. His company, Design CEO, a leadership and strategy business, focuses on helping leaders navigate the hardships and ambiguity of modern leadership.
Cameron, a graduate of Harvard Business School today spoke about being a leader, rather than doing, and what it was like holding the role of CEO at the age of 24, the youngest to hold this position in AFL history. He proclaims to “never forget how hard it is”…the travails of a leader, and Cameron opened up for us, displaying remarkable vulnerability - unpacking the lessons of being a father to a trans child, broken families, and having had mental health challenges himself. He spoke about how the hard moments define us, his leadership equation, what he looks for in people, aptitude - and why being in your element is massively important.
