In this episode, I am joined by Aishat Adesanya, whom I met through a mutual friend. We discuss her experience of losing someone close and how grief impacted her life and writing. We also explore Aishat’s approach to dealing with writer’s block since her debut, and close the episode by sharing a brief excerpt from her book. A Yoruba hijabi who began as an artist before turning to writing, she published her first story at 17. She writes from the West Midlands, exploring stories of identity, resilience, and memory.
