Grief & Growth ft. Aishat Adesanya
In this episode, I am joined by Aishat Adesanya, whom I met through a mutual friend. We discuss her experience of losing someone close and how grief impacted her life and writing. We also explore Aishat’s approach to dealing with writer’s block since her debut, and close the episode by sharing a brief excerpt from her book. Expect honest convos, a little laughter, and some food for thought. _________________ Aishat is the author of Funerals and Firecrackers (March 2025), her debut short story collection. A Yoruba hijabi who began as an artist before turning to writing, she published her first story at 17. Her work has since appeared in journals and anthologies, earning her a Best of the Net nomination and a role as a 2024 JAY Lit Awards judge. She writes from the West Midlands, exploring stories of identity, resilience, and memory. Books & Banter ft. Zarin Khan
In this episode, I’m joined by another lovely guest, my friend Zarin Khan! We talk about how we met, our respective STEM backgrounds and shared love for reading and writing. Hello World: Introducing your host, Muminah Koleoso
Hello World and welcome to the very first episode of Sister’s Station!   In this pilot episode, I, your host, Muminah Koleoso, will be sharing a bit about who I am and why this space exists. Think of this as the “first line of code”, a soft launch for this community space.   Why "Hello World"? It's an ode to my Computer Science background, because it's often the first thing we’re taught to code when learning a new programming language. And this is my hello to the world and you, my lovely listeners, as I embark on a new chapter of this journey.   You can follow Sister Station on our socials: LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, BlueSky and Threads https://linktr.ee/sisterstation    And you can find me on LinkedIn, Instagram & Youtube: https://linktr.ee/minahsmusings   For more information about Be the change.
