After warning His disciples of false prophets, Christ gave them a second sign, by which they could be sure of His own return...

'...and this gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness...then shall the end come.' Matthew 24:14

In 'Thief in the Night' William Sears embarks on an investigation of the greatest mystery story of our time. He asks what sparked the worldwide expectation of the return of Christ in the 1840s, and what became of the story. 'What hath God wrought!' Sears discovers that until 1844, humanity's advancement had stagnated. If depicted on a graph, the line would be horizontal. However, immediately after, the line went almost directly upwards, and has continued to climb ever since!
