So happy to welcome Lianne van Dijk to the podcast today. This summer she tackled the Dragon’s Back Race, a 380 km, six-day ultra-running challenge across the spine of Wales. In her first ever stage race, and her first race in Wales, she finished 3rd woman and 10th overall.
We dive into what the experience was really like, the highs, the lows, what she learned by trying something completely different, and how she’s redefining her relationship with running. We also talk about the expectations we put on ourselves, why running is such an honest sport, and the importance of not comparing ourselves to others, both in running and in life. Hope you enjoy the episode as much as I enjoyed this conversation.
Subscribe to "She Trails Podcast" for future episodes, where we dive into women trail runner stories, and get inspired to explore new paths and seek our own adventures, whatever they may be.
