Trusting God’s Timing & When You Don’t Know What God Wants You to Do Next
In this episode of She Lives Purposefully, I’m opening up about a season that’s very real for me right now — a season of waiting, uncertainty, and trusting God when I don’t know what’s next. As we welcome a new baby and care for our little one, I’ve found myself returning to these unshakable truths: Seek God first. Before the blessing, before the next step — seek Him. (Matthew 6:33) Stay in His Word. God’s Word lights the path one step at a time. (Psalm 119:105) Pray and listen. He wants to guide you. (Isaiah 30:21, Psalm 32:8, Proverbs 3:5-6) Seek wise counsel. There’s safety in godly advice. (Proverbs 15:22) Do the next right thing. Like David and Joseph, obedience in the small things leads to God’s greater plans. Trust His timing. Just like in Esther’s story, God’s timing is never off. Whether you’re praying about your next move, waiting for a promise, or simply unsure what God wants from you — this episode will encourage you to seek His presence more than His plans, to trust His heart even when you can’t see the full picture, and to rest knowing He’s leading the way. Live Purposefully through Biblical Hospitality: Love Like Jesus and Let Go of Perfection with Abby Kuykendall
In this episode, Abby Kuykendall joins us to talk about hospitality as a spiritual discipline for all Christians — not just a God-given spiritual gift for a select few. We learn how to live purposefully and be more like Jesus when it comes to loving others in the area of Biblical hospitality. We dig into what real, Christ-centered hospitality looks like, how to overcome perfectionism and comparison when opening your home, and three simple qualities you can start practicing today to create a welcoming space for genuine connection. If you’ve ever wanted to be more hospitable but felt held back by doubt or pressure to make everything “just right,” this conversation is for you. Should Christians do THIS? (Halloween, Yoga, Date Non-Christians, Drinking & More)
In this episode, we tackle not just the “can I?” questions many Christians wrestle with but the “should I?” — Halloween, yoga, drinking, and more. Scripture tells us we’re free in Christ (1 Corinthians 6, Romans 14, Galatians 5)… but Scripture also tells us that freedom doesn’t mean everything is beneficial or glorifies God.  We cover questions to ask yourself when it comes to “SHOULD I?”:  Asking if this will stumble someone (Romans 14, 1 Corinthians 8) Whether it builds up or tears down (1 Corinthians 10:23) Are YOU convicted? (Romans 14:14) Freedom vs. sin — not using grace as a cover-up for evil (1 Peter 2:16) Doing all things for God’s glory (1 Corinthians 10:31) Then my husband and I share our personal takes:Halloween — Can it be redeemed? How to participate in a way that points to Jesus; Yoga — Is it demonic or sinful?; Drinking — Freedom, conviction, and when it crosses the line; And more! Be on guard: Resist the enemy’s attacks against you and what God has for you
The Bible tells us that the enemy prowls like a roaring lion — but many of his attacks and temptations to sin sneak in. A flicker of envy at a friend’s house, a small moment of discouragement while cooking dinner, a quiet thought that says, “Why not me, God?” In today’s episode, we’re talking about how to be on guard against Satan’s work — envy, ungratefulness, bitterness, laziness, gossip — and how to pivot, with the power of Jesus Christ in you, back into a life God has for us: contentment, joy, gratitude, and purpose. Where Is God When Bad Things Happen? Finding Purpose in Suffering
When tragedy strikes, it can leave us asking the hardest questions: Where is God? Why does He allow suffering? In this video, I share a personal story that’s a huge part of my testimony. It’s the anniversary of my grandmother’s murder — and I share what God has taught me through it. We also touch on the recent murder of Charlie Kirk and other tragic recent events.  We’ll talk about: Why bad things happen in a broken world Where God is in the midst of suffering How He brings beauty from ashes and purpose out of pain The hope we have in His promises and the comfort He offers us You’ll also hear powerful scriptures that have carried me through seasons of grief, including Romans 8, 2 Corinthians 1, James 1, and Revelation 21. Even when life feels overwhelming, God is present, He intervenes, and He redeems. My prayer is that this encourages you, strengthens your faith, and reminds you of the eternal hope we have in Jesus. 📖 Verses Mentioned in This Video: Romans 8:18 Romans 5:3–5 James 1:2–4 John 16:33 Revelation 21:4 Romans 8:28 Isaiah 43:2 💬 I’d love to hear from you: How has God met you in times of suffering? 243 | How to Be a Gospel-Centered Mom with Laura Wifler
For the mamas who just want to raise their kids WELL in Christ, today, we’re talking about being a Gospel mom.  I’m joined by Laura Wifler—wife, mama, writer, podcaster, and co-founder of the global nonprofit Risen Motherhood.  Laura’s new book, cowritten with Emily Jensen, Gospel Mom, is for moms longing to live a Christ-centered life in the midst of messy, mundane motherhood. We dive deep into: What it really means to be a Gospel-centered mom How to tune out the noise of parenting advice and tune into truth Why the “little years” of motherhood are not “lost years”—and how God is at work in them Letting go of the “what if” and living faithfully in the “what is” Encouragement for weary moms navigating comparison, unmet expectations, and daily overwhelm Laura reminds us that our value doesn’t come from how productive or perfect we are—but from being rooted in Jesus and resting in His grace. 🎉 Grab Laura’s new book Gospel Mom (and don’t miss the companion workbook!): https://amzn.to/3IoYKoS Learn more about your ad choices.
