In this episode, I am interviewing an amazing woman who blew me away with her infectious positive energy.
You know, sometimes you meet someone, and you think to yourself, 'Ohhh, we would be great friends with that person.' Well, Ashleigh is one of them.
Ashleigh Donald, with over 20 years of experience in marketing & communications, co-founded the multi-award-winning Halo Business Consulting with her husband in 2019, right before Covid. The thing is, Halo specializes in the hospitality sector, and imagine what happened to her and her family in the first months of their business. Ashleigh is also the mother of three, which, in my eyes, makes her a living and breathing superhero, to be honest.

Welcome to the first episode of 2024. Today, I have a very special guest. One particular part of our conversation made me reflect on something precious, and I want to share it with you.
This episode is not a simple one to listen to. It's the story of a woman who fought against all odds. She stood up against her culture, her parents, the stigmas, the cancer… In her words, she stood up against God to redefine her life and live it—not the way it was meant to be, but the way she wanted to live it!
She believed and said, "I deserve better." Just those 3 words gave her the power to rewrite her own story from a very young age.
My friend, please welcome to your heart Saj Zafar, the founder of leaderHERship Academy and Institute of Change.
Saj Zafar is a Psychologist, ex-Prison Governor, Leadership Coach, International Speaker, Author, and Certified Cultural Intelligent Facilitator.
She recently featured in Metro under the title “I was stabbed in a racist attack aged 11 — now I fight for girls like me.” So now you know this is a real treat to kick off the year.
Buckle up, and let’s welcome Saj!

Bridget Forster is a Female Empowerment Advocate and Leadership for Diversity consultant. She has several decades of leadership experience. Bridget’s life is full of big moves. Since leaving the UN, her consultancy “Be the Bridge Today” focuses on advocacy and advisory work to help organisations create leadership cultures that provide the space for increased diversity and all the benefits for both men and women that arise from that.

Hello, my friend! It's J here, and you are listening to the “She is Awesome" podcast.
Today, I am with one of those female entrepreneurs who made it to the top few per cent of women entrepreneurs in the UK, Julie Griffith. An insight professional, Julie grew her market research agency to 25 employees, exited it successfully, and founded a new business fired up by a new passion! Julie now wants to help other businesses engage and energize their teams by creating a safe space for candour and empowering employees to create a positive and trusting culture.
We talked about many things: growing a business to the level of 25 employees, market research, starting over, people-first culture, and there is one key learning I took away: dare to look for the bad news!
