Shattered Silence: The Countdown is a True Crime podcast based on the deaths of three women in Lumberton, North Carolina. The bodies of Rhonda Jones and Christina Bennett were found by the same person on the same day just blocks apart on April 18, 2017. Megan Oxendine spoke to a local news reporter about the deaths, and was found dead about six weeks after that interview. All three women's rape kits sat untested for more than a year, and it took about a year and a half for the families to receive autopsy results. Rhonda Jones' mother created a group called 'Shatter The Silence' which aims to help those who have lost family members to murder or have family members who are missing in Robeson County. There are many questions surrounding this investigation, and as you'll hear, Robeson County locals have differing opinions on who they think killed the women.
