A blind person would feel immensely stifled and stuffy for not being able to see what is in front. This man mentioned in today’s Scripture passage was blind from birth, so from a fleshly perspective, don’t you think that his life was so very cursed? Being born blind from birth, it must have been very hard on him in itself. Yet, the disciples went so far as asking, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” Then, how deeply was he hurt by such words? However, the disciples of Jesus and the people near by asked Jesus carelessly about the cause of his blindness as if that was none of his business. He didn’t become blind because he wanted to, yet he has to live a stifling life for the rest of his life. And so, if has the understanding that he has to go on living as a blind all through his life because of his parent’s sins, because of a certain person, or because of someone else, this blind man would perhaps go on living resenting that person all through his life.  God’s Church is where the righteous who have received the remission of sins are gathered, and God is pleased with this Church and cares deeply about it. With His eyes of grace, God always watches over His Church on this planet earth. The will of God and His heart are manifested in His Church. As we are abiding in this Church, God therefore hears our prayers and answers our requests. As you know, a mother’s eyes are always set on her toddler, and the eyes of a groom are always set on his bride. John chapter 9 tells the story of a blind man whose eyes were opened. Today I would like all of us to meditate on this passage. That the blind man’s eyes were restored is really true, and there is a mystery behind it. We need to meditate on this account with spiritual discernment. It is indispensable for us to have such eye-opening experiences, and we must as a necessity, try to understand the mystery behind this incredible story where Jesus Christ healed this blind man’s eyes. That the blind man’s eyes were opened is a great mystery. The Bible says that this blind man eyes were immediately opened when he went to the pool of Siloam and washed his eyes as instructed by the Lord. All of us are working very hard to the best of our abilities in order to support the gospel ministry. One of the beautiful works of the church of God is when various people work together in unity. Whenever I conceive a plan of action, I often experience the weaknesses of my flesh especially towards the end of that task. But even though I get tired, I am challenged by it and strive to finish the work, for I enjoy seeing the completion of this precious work. In the Gospel of John chapter 9, Jesus opened the eyes of a blind man and there arose much religious discussion owing to this affair. The blind man who met Jesus and obtained good eyesight told the Pharisees that it was rather strange that they did not know where He came from. The Gospel of John chapter 9 verse 30 says, “The man answered and said to them, ‘Why, this is a marvelous thing, that you do not know where He is from; yet He has opened my eyes!’” We must all know where Jesus Christ came from. Referring to Himself, Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). Who could dare to make such a claim? Only Jesus is the true God who can describe Himself like this. Those who believe in the Word of the remission of sins that Jesus has given us can be delivered from all their sins and receive new life. Even as we could not avoid but be destroyed and accursed for our sins, the Lord has become our true Savior, and so we have no choice but to thank Him. Everyone was set to suffer the terrifying wrath of God for his sins. But, what about you? Have you met the Savior who has freed you from all your sins? I don’t know if the Lord has heard our prayer to have the gospel evangelized quickly, but our webmaster told me that the average number of hits on our homepage has increased to about 5,600 per a day. (Editor’s note: the number recorded over 20,000 a day in 2006.) The response has been great since we have produced some more electronic books that contain the gospel of the water and the Spirit and uploaded them on the internet since we were not able to print many books in paper because of the financial difficulty. The request of the books increase by about 100 copies each time the number of visitors to our homepage increases by 1000 people. And He said, “All who ever came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them.” He also said, “I am the door. Our Lord illustrated here that He was the Good Shepherd and that the Good Shepherd even gives up his life for the sheep. It would be wonderful if there were only good shepherds like the Lord, but unfortunately there are many hirelings as mentioned in this verse amongst the ministers of this world who only work for pay. I felt as if I was returning to the world of children as I saw the snow piled up outside. I wanted to run around because the whole world became white. My heart also feels as if it became as white as snow. Like the dogs that run around in joy when the snow falls, I feel like hopping around because the sight of the snow falling is so beautiful. This is how I feel although people who have to shovel the piled up snow may feel annoyed. All human beings are made of the spirit, flesh, and the mind. Through today’s Scripture passage, the Lord is speaking to us about the sheepfold. Let’s read John 10:1-3 again here: “‘Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. In John chapter 10, the Lord continued to tell them that He was the Christ. It’s written in verses 23-24, “And Jesus walked in the temple, in Solomon’s porch. Then the Jews surrounded Him and said to Him, ‘How long do you keep us in doubt? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.’” When Jesus was on this earth, many Jews thought that they were being confused by Him. They thought that they were good Jews, but Jesus was now deceiving and misleading many of them to go astray. John chapter 11 gives the account of the death of Lazarus as an example to explain the resurrection of the dead. The story developed here starts with three siblings who lived together, a brother named Lazarus and two sisters named Martha and Mary, and it begins with Lazarus falling gravely ill and dying from it. The key protagonist in John chapter 11 is Mary. It is a fact that from the ancient times to now, humanity has been trying to solve the problem of death. From kings to the ordinary people, all human beings have tried everything to solve the problem of their death.
