Repetitive problems like not consistently following IEP accommodations is a symptom of a larger issue. If school systems truly want to embrace inclusivity and belonging, they must underscore it is everyone's role to ensure a free and appropriate education for all and then walk the walk. Addressing ineffective operational processes and scaling behaviors and skills from their teaching team already successfully embracing diversity, equity, and inclusion in their classrooms, can change the trajectory of many young lives and improve school culture.
