The episode is ultimately discussing the idea of deservedness and how we try to quantify how much someone deserves something based on how much they have suffered before getting it. This is more of a philosophical conversation to get us to think about how we engage with the world based on what we think we deserve and don’t deserve and how we try to find meaning by trying to quantify deservedness.
