Join Jamie and Simon as they unpick the penultimate episode of Better Call Saul - Waterworks. This week we were delighted to welcome back Kim who spills her guts to the DA and give Cheryl the lowdown on Howards murder before we pick up with Jimmy in Omagah as he gets up to a bit of gold of fashioned burglarizing!
From Wikipeida:
In a flashback, Kim meets with Saul to finalize their divorce and has an encounter with Jesse outside his office. In 2010, she gets a call from Gene in Florida at her sprinkler manufacturer job, where she asks him to turn himself in and hangs up when he refuses. Guilt-stricken, she travels to Albuquerque and gives Cheryl a written confession explaining her and Jimmy's destruction of his image and the circumstances of his death, having an emotional breakdown on the bus after leaving. Gene narrowly escapes the cancer-stricken man's house after he wakes up. Jeff is arrested and blamed for the burglary after he panics and runs into another car when a police car idles behind him, forcing Gene to enlist Marion to help him get out on bail. Suspicious, Marion uses the new computer Jeff bought her with the department store money to search for Gene's true identity on Ask Jeeves, and calls the authorities with her Life Alert button when Gene tries to intimidate her, forcing him to flee.
Join Jamie & Simon as they rewind Better Call Saul season 6 episode 11 - Breaking Bad and what a treat it was featuring the much speculated return of Jesse and Walt.
This week we had a visual treat as we jumped back and fourth between the Gene Takovitch universe and the Better Call Saul timeline with some of our favourite characters including the return of Franchescha and Mike.
From Wikkipedia:
In flashbacks to 2008 in Albuquerque, Saul takes on Walter White and Jesse Pinkman as clients, deducing the former to be "Heisenberg" – the chemist behind the high-purity blue methamphetamine being sold on the streets. Mike informs Saul that Walt has terminal lung cancer and cautions Saul against helping him, but Saul nevertheless decides to visit Walt at the high school where he teaches to offer his assistance in growing Walt's business. In 2010, Gene calls Francesca, who tells him that the FBI has seized most of Saul's assets, and that Kim once called asking about Jimmy. Gene attempts to reach Kim in Florida, but the call emotionally upsets him for unknown reasons. Gene then enlists Jeff and Buddy for a new con in which Gene gets their mark drunk, Jeff drives them home while giving them water laced with barbiturates, and Buddy enters the home to photograph the unconscious mark's IDs, credit cards, and financial records to sell for profit. After a string of successful cons, their latest target reveals he has cancer, causing Buddy to back out; Gene cuts him out of the operation and forces Jeff to drive him to the man's home, where he breaks in.

From Wikipedia:
In a flashforward to 2010, in Omaha, Jimmy, under the guise of Gene Takavic, befriends Marion, the mother of Jeff, the cab driver who recognized him as Saul Goodman. Gene confronts Jeff and offers to let him in "the game". The two collaborate with a friend of Jeff's to run a scheme where they will burgle a department store in the Omaha mall where Gene works.
Gene does his part by befriending and distracting the security guards with Cinnabons and small talk about Nebraska Cornhuskers football while Jeff steals expensive merchandise under a strict time limit. When Jeff trips on a slippery floor, Gene gains him extra time to recover by telling a sob story (a true one, albeit lacking personal details) about his loneliness to cover for him. The three get away with thousands of dollars in stolen goods. However, upon completion of the task, Gene tells Jeff to keep his distance from him in the future, and threatens to turn him and his friend in to the authorities for various crimes if he fails to do so, even if it means getting caught himself. Energized by the con's success, Gene wistfully finds a Saul Goodman-style dress shirt in the department store but leaves without purchasing it.

Lalo provides Jimmy with an address to Gus's house and instructs Jimmy to drive there and shoot him. Jimmy convinces Lalo to send Kim, after which Lalo ties Jimmy to a chair and leaves. Kim is apprehended at Gus' front door by Mike, to whom she explains the situation with Lalo. She points out Gus' body double as matching the description Lalo provided, and Mike orders his men to Jimmy and Kim's apartment. When Kim says Lalo agreed to her switching places with Jimmy, Gus realizes the shooting attempt is a diversion and drives to Lavandería Brillante. Lalo is there obtaining evidence for Eladio of Gus' planned meth lab and ambushes Gus and kills his bodyguards. Gus shows Lalo the lab, then triggers a power outage. In the darkness, he reaches the handgun he hid previously and fires several shots at Lalo. After turning the lights on, he finds that Lalo wounded him, but Lalo is fatally wounded. Mike and his men remove Howard's body from Jimmy and Kim's apartment and Mike explains that Howard's death will be made to look like a suicide. This week the show is dominated by the colour blue as we see Jimmy & Kim execute the final acts of their plan to speed the settlement of the Sandpiper case. We find Lalo hiding in a storm drain and watch as one of his mistakes set us on a path towards Howard's execution. What does it all mean and where will the show be heading next?
From Wikipedia:
On the day of the Sandpiper settlement hearing, Jimmy and Kim scramble to restage their photos with the film crew and the actor standing in for Casimiro, then pass them to Howard's PI, who is secretly working for them. Howard falls for the ruse, embarrassing himself and his company at the hearing. Schweikart reverts to his less-generous prior offer, which Cliff and Howard are compelled to accept. Meanwhile, Lalo, having returned to Albuquerque, spies on Gus' laundry from a storm drain. Lalo calls Hector and, realizing the line has been tapped, tells his uncle that he will attack Gus that night; Mike redirects his security team from lower-priority targets to protect Gus and the laundry. Howard visits Jimmy and Kim's apartment and asks why they went to such elaborate lengths to humiliate him, accusing them of being sociopaths who enjoy running cons. Lalo unexpectedly arrives to talk to "his lawyers", and murders Howard with a silenced pistol.
Join Simon & Jamie as they Rewind Better Call Saul, Season 6 Episode 6 Axe & Grind. We chat about meeting Howards wife for the first time and what might be in store for Jimmy & Kim as their scam hits a bump in the road. Do you think Jimmy has rumbled Howard’s PI? Why else would he withdraw the cash - its not like they're actually paying off the Judge, right?
From Wikipedia
In a strained conversation with his wife, Howard says he is attempting to end Jimmy's harassment campaign. Howard's investigator reports Jimmy and Kim are keeping a regular routine, except for a recent $20,000 cash withdrawal. Kim and Jimmy procure a psychotropic drug from Dr. Caldera for use in their scheme against Howard. Caldera says he is retiring from crime and shows Kim and Jimmy his encrypted book of criminal contacts. Jimmy and his camera crew photograph an actor impersonating Rand Casimiro, the mediator in the Sandpiper case. Cliff invites Kim to Santa Fe to meet representatives of a foundation that finances projects similar to her pro bono criminal defense work, which coincides with the day she and Jimmy will execute their plan against Howard. Jimmy encourages her to go but later spots Casimiro, whose recently broken arm is in a cast, which is not visible in any of their photos. In response, Kim cancels her Santa Fe plans and drives back to Albuquerque. In Germany, Lalo tracks down Casper, a member of Werner's crew; he gains the upper hand in an ensuing struggle and prepares to interrogate Casper about his work for Werner.

Settle in as we talk our way through the episode and say goodbye to Nacho one last time. This week we pick up on Jimmy & Kim's scam to take down Howard and talk about whether Kim's "Crossroad" and Howard's "Forque" has put them on the same path.
From Wikipedia
Kim is meeting with Cliff Main at a coffee shop when Jimmy disguises himself as Howard and takes his car. He picks up Wendy from a motel, then pretends to force her out of the car while driving past Kim and Cliff, making it appear that Howard is using prostitutes. While dropping off Wendy, Kim notices a car following her. Jimmy discovers that defending Lalo has made him a pariah with courthouse staff but popular among local criminals wanting his representation. After being kicked out of the nail salon for attracting high traffic, Jimmy scouts a new office. While meeting a pro bono client, Kim again spots the car that is following her and confronts the occupants. Mike later reveals that the people following her work for him, that Lalo may be alive, and that he is monitoring anyone Lalo may contact. A visibly shaken Kim meets with Jimmy at the potential location of his new office and approves of it. Gus employs a surveillance system from a neighboring home connected to his through a tunnel system, where employees under Mike's supervision monitor Albuquerque for signs of Lalo.

Prosecutor Suzanne Ericsen connects Jimmy to Lalo and asks Kim to persuade Jimmy to inform on the Salamancas. Gus arranges for Nacho to be smuggled into the U.S., then Nacho and Mike review the details of Gus's plan to absolve Gus of blame for Lalo's death. Jimmy and Kim work with Huell to obtain duplicates of Howard's car key and keyless entry system. Mike takes up a firing position with his rifle to watch Gus hand Nacho over to Juan and Hector. Nacho tells them he killed Lalo in league with the Alvarez drug family. Rather than pretend to flee so that Victor can kill him, Nacho uses a piece of broken glass to free himself from his restraints, then kills himself with Juan's gun.

S5 E9 "Bad Choice Road"
Jimmy and Mike make their way to a truck stop where Tyrus and Victor pick them up. Jimmy posts Lalo's bail and tells Lalo he was alone and walked after his car broke down. Lalo plans to return to Mexico. Gus realizes the men who ambushed Jimmy were hired by Juan Bolsa to protect Gus's business. Jimmy lies to Kim about what happened, but Kim realizes the truth after she sees the bullet hole in his coffee mug. Kim quits Schweikart & Cokely to focus on pro bono clients. Mike tells Jimmy his post-traumatic stress will pass with time. Lalo discovers Jimmy's car and returns to Albuquerque instead of waiting for The Cousins to bring him to Mexico. Mike calls to warn Jimmy just before Lalo arrives at Kim's apartment. As Mike trains his sniper rifle on Lalo from a nearby roof, Lalo has Jimmy repeat the story of his desert walk, then asks about the bullet holes in Jimmy's car. Kim tells Lalo the car was probably destroyed by passersby and berates him for not trusting Jimmy. Lalo appears satisfied with Kim's argument and departs. He tells Nacho to head for Mexico, but not the original pickup site.
S5 E10 "Something Unforgivable"
After Lalo leaves, Jimmy tells Kim the truth about his desert trek with Mike. Kim and Jimmy hide at a downtown hotel. Mike tells Gus that Lalo and Nacho went to Lalo's Chihuahua home. Gus suggests Nacho can help the assassins he is sending. Kim accepts 20 pending felonies from the public defender pro bono. Nacho receives a call telling him to open Lalo's back gate at 3 am. Kim tells Howard she quit Schweikart & Cokely. Howard warns Kim about Jimmy's recent harassment and suggests Kim should stop following his lead. Kim says she is insulted by the notion that she cannot decide for herself. Mike tells Jimmy that Lalo will be killed, and Jimmy later informs Kim. They discuss forcing a Sandpiper case resolution by sabotaging Howard, which would enable Jimmy to receive his seven-figure share of the settlement sooner. Lalo introduces Nacho to Don Eladio, who gives his blessing to Nacho's plans for the Salamanca drug business. Nacho opens Lalo's gate and runs away as the assassins attack Lalo. Lalo kills all but one of the assassins. He instructs the survivor to call the middleman who arranged for the murder and report that Lalo had been assassinated.

Mike tells Stacey he is over the problem that caused his recent anger. Nacho tells Mike that Lalo wants Nacho to burn down one of Gus' restaurants. Gus and other subsidiary owners provide updates to Peter, Madrigal's CEO. Gus briefs Peter and Lydia on the meth lab's status. Jimmy blames Howard for Chuck's death and says that as Saul he has grown too big for the constraints of HHM.
S6 E8 "Bagman"
The Cousins pick up Lalo's bail money at a cartel site in Mexico. An informant makes a telephone call to report their presence. Lalo directs Jimmy to a remote pickup site and pays him $100,000 to transport the cash. Kim says she does not want him to go because he is a lawyer, not a "bagman" for drug dealers, but he says it will be an easy job. The Cousins deliver two bags of cash to Jimmy, then depart. As Jimmy starts his return trip, he is cut off by several gunmen. They take the money and prepare to kill him but are attacked by an unseen sniper. All but one are killed and the survivor escapes. The shooter is Mike, who drives off with Jimmy and the cash. Jimmy's car breaks down, so they push it over the edge of the road, then walk cross-country to avoid the gunman. They camp overnight, then continue their trek. When Jimmy fails to return, Kim asks Lalo for his location, but Lalo refuses. The gunman continues searching, so Jimmy acts as a decoy and draws him in. Mike shoots the gunman, whose vehicle flips and is destroyed. Mike and Jimmy resume walking.

From Wikipedia:
S5 E5 "Dedicado a Max"
Mike wakes up on a ranch in Mexico which has ties to Gus, including a fountain dedicated to Max. Dr. Barry Goodman treats him and recommends he stay and heal. Gus later arrives and asks for Mike's help in Gus' war against the Salamancas. Mike refuses to engage in killing simply to further Gus' aims, but Gus says he wants Mike because Mike understands Gus' need for revenge. Jimmy as Saul creates delays in Mesa Verde's eviction of Acker. Kim tries to recuse herself by claiming a conflict of interest, but Kevin insists she remain and refuses any compromises. Howard asks Jimmy to accept his offer to join HHM, and Jimmy claims he is still considering it. Jimmy suggests there are no options left for Acker but to find "dirt" on Kevin and tries to persuade Kim to move on, but she decides to proceed. Jimmy hires Sobchak who thinks his search of Kevin's home revealed nothing damaging, but Kim’s knowing smile as she looks through Sobchak's photos indicates she notices something useful. Rich Schweikart suggests that Kim should disengage from Mesa Verde's business, correctly deducing her heart is not in it, but she angrily refuses.
S5 E6 "Wexler v. Goodman"
Kim tells Jimmy she does not want to follow through on blackmailing Kevin and wants to reach a settlement between Mesa Verde and Everett Acker. Jimmy agrees, but at the meeting to finalize the settlement, he stuns everyone by asking for $4 million. Kim's insight into Sobchak's photos is that Mesa Verde's logo was inspired by a photograph the bank never obtained permission to use. Jimmy pressures Kevin by threatening an injunction against displaying the logo and threatening to run TV ads seeking plaintiffs for class action suits against the bank which negatively depict Kevin's father. Kevin meets privately with Jimmy and accepts a deal to pay Acker and the photographer. Kim angrily confronts Jimmy, upset that he made her the "sucker" for his con. She suggests getting married. Gus, Victor, and Mike meet with Nacho, who reports Lalo's plan to reveal the locations of Gus's street dealers to the police. Gus directs Victor to give up low-level employees while ensuring nothing leads back to Gus. Mike secretly points the police to Lalo's involvement in the murder of Fred the money wire clerk,[c] and they converge on Lalo while he is driving.
