Some of David’s friends remember the first female President of U.S. Figure Skating, and a member of the 1980 Olympic figure skating team.

Claire Ferguson was an American figure skating official and judge who was the president of the United States Figure Skating Association from 1992 to 1995.

Michael Botticelli was an American figure skater who competed in pairs with Sheryl Franks. The couple won the bronze medal at the United States Figure Skating Championships four consecutive times, beginning in 1977, and finished seventh at the 1980 Winter Olympic Games.

Guests include Sheryl Franks, Kitty Conrad, Peter Carruthers, Lisa-Marie Allen, Sandy Lenz-Jackson, Paul George, Judy Blumberg, and Scott Hamilton.

Co-host Alissa Czisny, Kurt's wife, is an American former competitive figure skater. She is the 2010 Grand Prix Final champion, a two-time Skate Canada champion (2005, 2010), the 2011 Skate America champion, and a two-time U.S. national champion (2009, 2011). She is also the 2019 and the 2021 U.S. Professional Open Grand Champion.

Jozef (Jumping Joe) Sabovčík is a Slovak figure skater who competed representing Czechoslovakia. He is the 1984 Olympic bronze medalist, a two-time European champion (1985 and 1986), and a six-time Czechoslovak national champion. His quad toe loop at the 1986 European Championships was originally approved as the first quad jump landed in competition, but a few weeks later it was deemed invalid due to a touchdown with his free foot.

With his skating partner, Alexa Knierim, he is the 2022 World champion, the 2023 World silver medalist, a 2022 Olympic silver medalist in the figure skating team event, the 2022 Grand Prix Final silver medalist, a two-time U.S. National champion (2021, 2023), and a three-time Grand Prix gold medalist.

With his former partner, Haven Denney, he is a four-time Grand Prix medalist (2 silver, 2 bronze), the 2013 World Junior champion, and the 2017 U.S. National champion.

Sam Auxier was elected as U.S. Figure Skating’s 33rd president in 2022. Auxier previously served as the organization’s president from 2014 to 2018. He has been a member of U.S. Figure Skating’s Board of Directors the past 12 years, serving previously as Midwestern and First Vice President and, prior to that, as Secretary. He has served as an official for more than 30 years and is an ISU singles/pairs judge and referee and sectional singles technical controller. He has also judged at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games, two World Championships and served as chief referee for several qualifying competitions.

They are 2018 Olympic bronze medalists in the figure skating team event, two-time Four Continents medalists (2016 silver, 2014 bronze), three-time Grand Prix medalists, and three-time U.S. National Champions (2015, 2018, 2020). At the 2018 Winter Olympics, the Knierims became the first American pair, and the second pair ever in history, to perform a quad twist at the Olympic Games.
