Grand Comic Fest Guest Spotlight Series: Michael B Moynahan

I just want to start off by saying Michael B Moynahan is a nice guy, so nice in fact that we invited him back for another year at Grand Comic Fest. You may know him from his run as Lookout Bear in the wildly popular children's show Zoobilee Zoo, or perhaps you recognize him from his role as Pee Wee Hutchins in the 1986 wrestling film Bodyslam. No matter where you know him from, you'll love this adventure into his career that includes stories about hanging out with Michael J Fox, what it's like to actually wrestle your favorite wrestler, his stint as a chanting monk, and working with Conan O'Brien. We also discuss his Beach Boys tribute band The Beach Toys before diving into some Zoobilee Zoo talk and wrapping up with with some talk about Grand Comic Fest. You won't want to miss this fun conversation with our good friend Michael B Moynahan, and you certainly won't want to miss Grand Comic Fest 5.

Grand Comic Fest Guest Spotlight Series: Deryl Skelton's 50 Year Celebration

Deryl Skelton has worked 50 years in the comic industry and we are helping him celebrate. Join us as we get an inside look at the path that lead to this golden anniversary. You'll hear tales of his years at DC and Marvel and the folks who inspired him along the way, as well as his encounters with celebrities such as George Forman, Liberace, Siegfried and Roy, and not one but two Catwomen. Deryl tells us what it's like to tackle beloved franchises and have the people he is drawing give regular critiques. Did you know that he created the visuals for a Cyndi Lauper video? Hear all about it in this episode! If it happened in the comic world in the last 50 years, chances are Deryl either did it or has a story about it..... and we get to listen in as he reminisces about a half century of living his childhood dream.

Grand Comic Fest Guest Spotlight Series: Wyatt Weed

There isn't anything in filmmaking that Wyatt hasn't done. He's a writer, a director, an editor, a visual and special effects artist... but that's not all, not by a long shot. He's acted in such notable franchises as Star Trek the Next Generation and Predator, he's built a spaceship for a Weirdo and crashed airplanes (or at least made them look crashed), hell... he's even made his very own (awesome) Batman film. Wyatt is a testament to what happens when you allow your drive, passion, talent and all the amazing people you've surrounded yourself with to work together to make dreams come true. The truly wonderful thing is, he has remained humble and grateful through it all. Join us as Wyatt shares some remarkable stories from his career and gives some solid advice for aspiring filmmakers who want to follow that same path.

Grand Comic Fest Guest Spotlight Series: Wesley Eure

Many of us recognize Wesley Eure as Will Marshall from Land of the Lost, but I'm here to tell you that's just the tip of the iceberg. Do you know what role saved his life from a rollerskating street gang? Were you aware that he has performed with the Jackson 5 and was signed to Motown Records? Hear these tales and so much more including what it's like to work on a daily soap opera, spending a day teaching Lucille Ball how to play Password, how much Sid Kroft loves to talk and how Wesley is connected to the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling (GLOW). We also discuss The Red Wings of Christmas, one of the many children's books he has written and the creation and impact of the PBS series Dragon Tales (you won't believe who named their kids after characters Wesley created). You will be inspired by his charity work and philanthropy; you will be amazed by stories that haven't been told, or even thought about, in years; and you will be charmed by the genuine kindness that just flows from our new friend Wesley Eure.

Season 2 Episode 20: Horror Anthologies

What can we say.... the last couple months have been crazy busy, but we didn't want to let spooky season pass by without at least one Halloween themed episode, so here it is.

Back in the day we used to get some amazing mash ups with legendary directors teaming up to make anthology films... and these are the most memorable of our yute. You may remember bits and pieces of some of these movies, perhaps a quote or two... but do you know the stories behind the scenes? We take a deep dive into some of our favorite films such as Creepshow, Cat's Eye, Twilight Zone, and even include what we consider to be a modern classic (just because we love it so much) Trick r' Treat. Maybe memories will emerge, maybe you'll discover new favorites... and maybe you'll have a good time. We're talking horror this week.... have a safe and happy Halloween!
