US citizenship was NOT granted. It was imposed! Well, some of us reject this imposition. So Kathy Hochul wasn't apologizing for the State's mascot ban. Oh no. She did the ole, "It wasn't me!" duck on this one. A just pointed at the Education Department. "It was THEM!"
I know it's not guilt but more likely arrogance that allows these guys to admit the BS they are promoting. Ironically, it's the justices on the right who are lifting their skirts.
I did interviews with NPR, Native America Calling, Brian Lehrer as well as the AP, the NY Post, the Long Island Press and several more. All because the Orange Menace stepped up for the white folk of Massapequa.
With Trump standing up for schools using Native peoples for mascots, the media has finally covered the issue. But much of the real messaging still remains lost.
I took the 8 hour train ride to NYC for a Resistance Radio show from our Brooklyn studio and heading out to Long Island to screen Sugarcane at the Cinema Arts Centre in Huntington NY.
As I prepare to head out to Long Island to screen "Sugarcane" I hope some of those Long Islanders upset with Brodie's ruling come out to see the film and confront me on mascots.
We'll screen "Sugarcane" at the Cinema Arts Centre on April 10th at 7:30pm in Huntington, NY.
David Harmony joins me to discuss our "Timeline" project.
Emily Pike leads my conversation on Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women. Then I turn to the impact the current White House administration is having on Native communities.
Many people believe we live on easy street; no taxes, free money, free college, free food. Oh! And Casinos, Smoke Shops and Cannabis Dispensaries! NOT!!
