Head Like a Hole
In 1989 the top 40 was covered in hits by Paula Abdul, Poison, Bobby Brown and Chicago. Hair metal was at its peak and Grunge was right around the corner. There were a few acts like Depeche Mode and New Order that were making great, dark synth pop but no one could have anticipated an album like Pretty Hate Machine by Nine Inch Nails and in particular, the success of Head Like a Hole, the first single off the album.

Ideas vs Execution
A polarizing topic, Daniel and Rob discuss which is more important, Ideas or Execution. All things, big and small, started as **ideas**. Without ideas and/or a destination in mind, we would just be flailing without purpose. Without great ideas, even the greatest execution would be for naught. “*I want to work my tail off without an end in mind“* seems like a misguided statement yet that is exactly what you would be doing without ideas, executing without a purpose. Yet, like many others, we find ourselves awash in ideas yet they don’t always feel like they could be “the next big thing”. It is important to note that if we were spending time executing consistently, the next big thing might come to us.

Obsessive Creative Compulsion - Part 2 of 2
Part 2 of 2. What stops us from taking on the projects we want to see come to life? Sometimes having the perfect creative space, the perfect situation, the perfect setup is not possible. Having all the time in the world will not always spawn greatness. *If I could just quit my job and focus on my passion, then I’d be happy and I’d be creating all the awesome things I see in my mind’s eye.* We all feel this way but is this obsessive creative compulsion keeping us from realizing that to do anything in life, it all starts with action and small actions matter.

Lifelong Learning
Working remote has one major benefit and that is those micro-moments throughout the day where you can take a break to read or brush up on something new. As creative individuals, we are constantly learning new things passively but at what point do we intentionally seek out new skills and wisdom actively. With services and sites like Skill Share, Audible, YouTube, Brilliant and Treehouse there are a plethora of places to learn online. In this episode we discuss the concept of lifelong learning and what steps we take to stay on top of our game.
