Episode 43 - The Silent Killer: Resentment as a Passive Aggressive Form of Anger {a conversation with Adriana Mastronardi}

In this episode, Adriana Mastronardi shares about her personal transformation journey that she embarked on after having kids, and how this path opened the door to so many opportunities for her. After spending the better part of her 30's invested in having kids and giving all of herself to provide for them, she grew resentful and realized she didn't remember who she was anymore. When Adriana started putting herself first, she healed much of the resentment, which also positively benefited her family. In Adriana's words, "when you feel better about yourself, everyone benefits". Tune in to hear about Adriana's incredible transformation journey and how she now supports women with their own journeys.

Adriana Mastronardi is an Environmental Engineer turned high school math teacher. She is a busy mom of three and is pursuing her passion of coaching women in nutrition and fitness. She has been helping women reclaim their health using nutrition and fitness to guide that process. Her mission is to show women that making time for themselves and filling their cups first allows them to create space and time for those around them. She has two nutrition coaching certifications and her ISSA personal training license. You can follow her on Instagram @cup.of.dri for all things health related and to explore 1:1 coaching.

In this episode, Adriana also talks about:

  • How she felt resentful and the passive aggressive anger she felt for not having time for herself;
  • Her definition of resentment as "the silent killer";
  • As you change and others start to notice, they can get confused and uncomfortable by the change, but it's important to keep going and lean into what makes you happy;
  • The impact stress can have on someone's health, even if they appear to be physically healthy;
  • No one else takes notice when you act out anger in a passive aggressive manner, so it only creates more resentment and does more harm to you;
  • Adapting to the different seasons of life you're in and permission to rediscover yourself through those seasons;
  • There are different seasons of consistency, and there is no perfection in consistency.
