CHECK OUT MY HIGHLIGHT BUBBLE "MY FIRST COMP"
to see the live prep and comp day
today, I’m diving into myfirst-ever weightlifting competition—the Landmine Games 2025. This wasn’t just about lifting heavy—it was amental battle, a test of resilience, and a masterclass in pushing through no matter what.
I’ll break downmy training, the setbacks, the mindset shifts, and what I learned from going head-to-head with some of the strongest lifters out there. Plus—why this is just the beginning of my journey into competitive lifting.
If you’re an athlete, a coach, or just someone who wants tolevel up mentally and physically—this episode is for you.Let’s get it! 🔥"
1. THE JOURNEY TO COMPETITION (6 WEEKS OUT)
• Training under Coach Tom DeGuli: Built a structured program dialing inlandmine coiling deadlifts, heavy cleans, presses, and explosive accessory work.
• Confidence was HIGH. I knew I had a shot at top 3—but I wanted the title.
• Nomadic lifestyle challenges: Training while constantly moving made prep chaotic—no stable environment, no routine.
2. THE FINAL 3 WEEKS: WHEN SH*T GOT HARD
• Frequent transitions took a toll—energy felt scattered, but I kept pushing.
• Girlfriend got super sick, and I had to take overall pet biz responsibilities while keeping my training on point.
• Then I got sick. HARD.
◦ The week of the comp, I was out—sleeping, eating soup, barely moving.
◦ But I made ano-excuse commitment: I WAS SHOWING UP.
3. COMPETITION DAY: WHERE IT GOT REAL
• Arrived at Weck Method at 9 AM—12-hour day ahead!
• First, completedLandmine University Level 1 Coaching Certification 🏆—a major milestone that deepened my technical understanding.
• Then, competition time. Nerves hit. Hard.
• Curveball: We had to pre-set all our attempt weights without knowing others' lifts.
• Mistake #1: Misjudged my clean and press attempt.
• Mistake #2: Went too heavy, failed3 snatches, 2 clean & press attempts.
• Lesson: I let adrenaline take over instead of breathing and executing.
• But—still landed in Top 3! 🥉
4. BIGGEST LESSONS + WHAT’S NEXT
• Competing is a different beast—mentally & physically.
• I now have FIRE under my ass for next year’s Landmine Games.
• Next goal: More comps. Possibly weightlifting comps—still deciding.
