We're pausing the Minor Prophet series again. Let's take a look at the Nehemiah. Why?
The things that are happening in this Book happen right after the time of the Minor Prophets Haggai and Zechariah. After Israel reestablished its spiritual identity, they needed to establish their national identity. The heart of a man named Nehemiah - who wasn't even in Israel - was broken to see this happen.
Let's take a moment to look at his life and a few key moments from it. Let's see how we can have God's courage in us as we seek step forward in our faith.

The number of times I've heard a child scream out, "It's not fair!" can't be counted.
And, to be completely honest, neither can the number of times that I have wanted to scream out, "It's not fair!"
Here's Malachi, bringing an ORACLE to God's children. At times, there is good news. At times, it's not good news. Israel is happy and then not happy. However, in it all, there is Good News for us. There is a message of One who will rise with healing in His wings.

There are several books called "The Writings of the Minor Prophets". Most of the time, these books are ignored. Because they were written before Jesus was born, we focus more of our attention on the writings included in that time and after.
But who were these men? What did they share and why? Can we learn anything about Jesus and our Triune God in these books?
Habakkuk.
Palm Sunday.
Is there a connection?
Maybe. Maybe not.
But I think as we consider the overall message communicated from our Sovereign God through this minor prophet, we should rejoice that, even though His ways are not our ways, they are still good!

In Joel, we read of lions, and tigers, and bears! Oh my!

This episode in the series features the Prophet Zechariah. Although there is a LOT to cover, one of the most startling things in this book is the clear portrayal of the pre-incarnate Christ. It is hard to argue with the image given of being clothed with grace!

A (minor) prophet named Haggai
There are several books called "The Writings of the Minor Prophets". Most of the time, these books are ignored. Because they were written before Jesus was born, we focus more of our attention on the writings included in that time and after.
But who were these men? What did they share and why? Can we learn anything about Jesus and our Triune God in these books?
Haggai. That's not really a name that parents give to their children these days. The word (roughly) means festive, but the events around his first message were anything but. But, by the 4th message (all 4 were shared in a VERY brief 4 months), the word from the Lord had gotten a LOT better.
