Errata:

• 1. In the pronunciation section of this episode, I gave the example of how native Chinese speakers might pronounce "desk" as "des," but this usually happens when there’s a need to link the word with the following one. "Desk" and "fast" are often pronounced differently, where each consonant gets an additional vowel sound. For example, "desk" might sound like "desike" and "fast" might sound like "fasite." This type of mistake is also common among Japanese native speakers.

• 2. In the grammar section of this episode, I gave an example like "The teacher explains the lesson clearly, which students understand easily," but I think this example isn’t quite appropriate. A better example would be: In Chinese, you can say "因为老师讲课很清晰，所以学生理解起来很容易" However, directly translating it into English as "Because teacher explains the lesson clearly, so students can understand easily" would have grammatical issues.
