Roisin Tarrant might be one of the most requested Ready or Not guests to date. And sure, part of the reason is because she’s built an incredible online following and has been generous in sharing her motherhood and career journey to date. And of course, it’s partly because her interior projects are inspiring and there’s something so earnest about the way she shares parts of her life with us.
But really, I think it’s her positive outlook on motherhood that draws so many mums in to listen when she speaks. And, it’s intentional – she made a decision early on that she was going to embrace motherhood as best as she knew how, and here we hear all about it.
Plus, she tells us how hard she found her first return to work, why she’s comfortable accepting that her identity is nearly entirely wrapped up in motherhood right now, what it was like to find out she was having twins, and how she has redesigned her career life to fit in with motherhood.
I already knew that she was great, but it’s fair to say I now understand why so many people wanted to hear from her. So let’s get into it.
I’m Lucinda, this is Ready or Not, and here’s the warm and wise Roisin Tarrant.

This episode covers sexual abuse and suicidal ideation. While the conversation you’re about to hear is ultimately a hopeful one, please take care before listening.
When Jessica Ella was a little girl, and for the many years that followed, she experienced what no child should: sexual abuse at the hands of her own father. She never felt safe at home, and the life that followed was a rollercoaster of falling apart and piecing herself back together.
And here, she generously shares her story with us – coming to terms with what happened to her, the decision to end her relationship with her dad, the fear of not being believed, and how she rebuilt her life and career after refusing to be defined by her lowest, most traumatic moments.

Nadia Mahjouri discovered a lot about herself after she became a mum at 22 and this episode covers so much that it’s hard to even sum up the themes discussed:
Blended families. Changing careers. Travelling to Morocco with a young baby. Looking for her estranged dad. What she’s learned from her work as a therapist. What it’s like to mother children at different ages. How she’s coped with losing her own mother.
And so! Much! More! It’s a warm hug of an episode and I know you’ll love Nadia like I do.

When Kath Carlin finally decided to stop trying for a second baby, part of her was kind of relieved. The journey had been arduous, and privately, she felt like she was only meant to be a mum of one. She wasn’t quite sure she was allowed to say it out loud, but she wasn’t sure she even wanted a second baby.
And then, she fell pregnant naturally. But her journey wouldn’t end there. There’d be a potential diagnosis on the cards, but ultimately, she would lose that baby, too. After that, she was done with trying and now, a year and a half later, she couldn’t be happier to be the mum of one child.
It’s surprising to me that in 2025, this is still a pretty unique story, and here, we explore why. Where does that pressure to have multiple kids come from? How does she feel all about it now?
Here, we explore this and so much more, including her incredibly successful career as a makeup artist and the hilarious birth story that wasn’t the red carpet plan she had in mind.

After experiencing the stillbirth of her firstborn, baking became a sort of therapy for Monique Milenkovic. She’d left her corporate job to go on parental leave, her calendar was clear, and with no baby in her arms, her life took an unexpected life altering turn.
That direction would lead her to The Cupcake Queens – her thriving business with eight stores and a delivery service across Melbourne.
But if growing her business wasn’t stretching her enough, after the loss of her son Nicholas, she’d go on to have a further five children.
And you might be wondering how – I know we sure were – but you’ll learn quickly, as we did, that Monique takes it all in her stride. She doesn’t sugar coat it, she’ll tell you it’s hard to navigate motherhood and business, but she’s also a glass half full type of woman. And so, this conversation was incredibly uplifting, and with so much devastating news permeating the news cycle, I think we could all use something uplifting right now. So let’s hear from Monique.
