We're back after a short break to discuss budget 2023 with Conor Dowd (An Rabharta Glas) and Joe Daly (People Before Profit). A budget that left those on social welfare far below what was needed to break even with 9 per cent inflation, widened the gap between rich and poor by some €200 a year and made token gestures to low-income workers. According to social justice Ireland a total of 595,000 people in the south of Ireland live in poverty, 164,000 are children. All these people are effectively worse off after the budget. A budget for the energy companies and vulture funds
