1 November is All Saint's Day. Today Radio Elton John pays tribute to those who we can never interview but who contributed so much to Elton John's creativity and success. Many were friends of broadcaster George Matlock. This is a special edition of Saturday Night's Alright (for podcasting).

On 24 October 2025, we marked 50 years since Elton John released another chart topper album, Rock of the Westies. The cover was photpgraphed at Caribou Ranch, Colorado and the album was recorded at that infamous studios too.

Famed for creating THAT outfit, the piano key costume for Elton at the historic Central Park New York concert in 1980, Andre actually created no less than seven costumes for Elton’s 1980 World Tour.

Andre confesses to us his three favourite Elton songs and tells us about the Elton Takes Manhattan 1980 painting he was commissioned to produce. We also announce a chance to win an enormous signed print of the masterpiece when Radio Elton John hosts a fundraiser to which you are all invited on the 45th annivesary of the 1980 concert in September. Proceeds will benefit the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

On 23 May 1975, Elton John and Bernie Taupin's autobiograhical Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy was released in the UK and USA - to become a defining hit album. It was delivered in the most creative album cover to ever grace an Elton John album by Alan Aldridge. We celebrate the half century with a 90-minutes interview with Elton's Art Director David Larkham and Alan's photographer/artist son Miles Aldridge. A very special edition available on REJ.World.

It is 30 years on 17 March when album Made In England was released and it spawned a successful tour in 1995. Music legend Sedaka was a top-seller in the 1950s and 1960s. After spending 12 years off the charts, Elton John convinced him to sign with Rocket Records and this led to a successful comeback. Now 85 and still going strong, hear Neil's story only on RadioEltonJohn.World.
A renowned producer and guitarist who worked on Scarface, Richie Zito is famous to Elton fans for appearing on three studio albums and for replacing Davey Johnstone in the band during the 1980 Tour, notably the historic Central Park, New York City gig that drew a then-record 450,000 to the audience. An orchestral arranger and conductor who worked on Blue Moves, A Single Man, and Jump Up! as well as the Tommy soundtrack. He had his own orchestra in college which debuted at Royal Albert Hall just months after he graduated. A personal friend of Paul Backmaster we will discover his story from the days of Royal Academy of Music until the present day conducting the City of Prague Orchestra, where this photo was captured.

In July 2024 we commemorate 22 years since the loss of respected music producer Gus Dudgeon. We celebrate his life and remember a dear friend to all of Elton's fans in this tribute. His brother Murray Dudgeon and Chris Hook who founded the Gus Dudgeon Foundation join the show. Expect an emotional edition.
