What Does Leucovorin Really Do for Children with Autism?

Dr. Purser explains how certain environmental chemicals can trigger major inflammatory events in infants and young children—events that may contribute to autism in some cases.

Leucovorin is simply high-dose folinic acid, a natural form of folate. While it may help some children and has even been promoted as a “cure,” it’s only one piece of the puzzle. True protection comes from supporting the body’s entire defense system—reducing toxins, calming inflammation, and strengthening resilience during those critical early years.

If you have questions about VARS Glutathione or testing options that could provide answers, reach out to our practice to learn more.

Root Cause of Autism?

AUTSIM - What is a potential ROOT CAUSE of Autism? Can it be helped?
What I see again and again is an inability to detox caused by failures in the Transsulfuration Pathway. This is your pathway that converts homocysteine to glutathione. If you have MTHFR or 16 other Gene SNPs, you will have problems with this pathway.
In little children with these SNPs, when exposed to high levels of toxins, such a mercury found in certain vaccines, or even acetaminophen (which drastically decreases glutathione levels), they will not be able to detox these toxins fast enough. They have MAJOR inflammatory responses that may cause permanent damage.
Functional Glutathione and the balancing of your methylation is the ONLY way to help and prevent it. Take a listen.

CAUSE OR EFFECT? Is MTHFR part of the fibromyalgia picture?

Which intracellular vitamin deficiencies do I see with fibromyalgia?

Welcome to a deep dive into the Genetic Underpinnings of Fibromyalgia. In this episode, we break down the complex world of genetic SNPs—specifically, MTHFR, NAT2, and CBS—and explore their link to fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. Ever heard of Ceruloplasmin? It's a protein you won't forget after hearing how it crucially manages 95% of your body's copper and zinc! We'll also tackle the insidious role of Vitamin Deficiencies and how they can trace back to ancient genetic quirks handed down by your ancestors.

Did you know that poor methylation could be worsening your fibromyalgia symptoms? We'll explain key MTHFR variants A1298C and C677T and why one is more problematic than the other. Plus, we get into the nitty-gritty of glutathione—your body's ultimate detox agent and a key player in managing fibromyalgia symptoms.

We'll wrap things up with a personal Q&A with Denise, who has firsthand experience with fibromyalgia. She'll share her journey from crippling pain to manageable symptoms. Lastly, don't miss our "Top Ten Intracellular Vitamin Deficiencies" linked to fibromyalgia, and learn how a targeted vitamin regimen can make all the difference.

Join us for an informative session that not only demystifies the genetic aspects of fibromyalgia but also offers actionable steps to manage it better. Because you're not just what you eat; you're also what you inherited!

Top 5 Deficiencies That Come From MTHFR

The MTHFR gene error can lead to a host of deficiencies that ripple through your health, impacting everything from your liver to your mood. A deficiency in the essential amino acid Methionine, for example, can manifest in elevated cholesterol, liver issues, and even dementia. This deficiency is closely linked with low levels of SAM-e, a crucial molecule in the body, and can inhibit the recycling of Glutathione, the body's master antioxidant.

Further complicating the picture are the roles of various B vitamins like B12, B9 (Folate), B6, and B2. An MTHFR gene error can disrupt these vital nutrients, leading to extreme fatigue, mood changes, and a cascade of other symptoms, including anemia and neuropathy. The gene error also affects the production of other important molecules and amino acids like L-Serine, which is critical for central nervous system function and Glutathione production. All told, the MTHFR gene error can have a far-reaching impact on your overall health.
