From her early years in Lafayette, Louisiana, Jazmyn Jones exhibited a passion for dance that would shape her life's journey. With a natural talent and dedication, she immersed herself in various dance styles, from ballet to hip hop, nurturing her love for the arts from a young age.
As a teenager, Jazmyn's talent began to shine brightly. At just 14, she took the lead in teaching hip-hop classes and crafting choreographies that captivated audiences. Her dedication and skill caught the attention of renowned figures like Debbie Allen, leading to opportunities such as performing with Urban Souls Dance Company 2 in Houston.
Despite her burgeoning success in dance, Jazmyn remained grounded in her education. She pursued higher learning at Howard University, earning her Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine with a minor in Chemistry on a prestigious academic scholarship. Alongside her teaching role, she joined the staff at F.I.R.E. Expressions Performing Arts Conservatory, where she shared her passion for dance as a ballet and hip-hop instructor.
In the same year, Jazmyn became a mother; she collaborated with her friend Leigha Porter to bring to life The Creole Nutcracker, a one-of-a-kind show celebrating Louisiana's rich cultural heritage. Jazmyn's journey from a passionate young dancer to a dedicated educator, community leader, and mother reflects her unwavering commitment to making a difference.
