What do pensions have to do with identity, equity, and emotional safety? In this powerful episode, Roshni Thakrar sits down with Dr Priya—Head of Policy Research at the Pensions Policy Institute (PPI) —to unpack the hidden architecture of retirement. From the motherhood penalty and gender pension gap to auto-enrolment, state pension futures, and global inspiration, this conversation explores how our labels, life paths, and lived experiences shape the outcomes we face in later life.
Dr Priya brings decades of experience across government, academia, and the private sector, and her insights are grounded in rigorous research and community connection. Whether you're just starting your career, juggling mortgages and childcare, or approaching retirement, this episode offers practical tips, policy reflections, and a vision for a more inclusive pension system.
Tune in for a conversation that blends policy with humanity—and discover why retirement is never just about money.

What happens when a referee becomes a revolutionary?
In this episode, Janie Frampton—former FIFA official, governance expert, and unapologetic equity advocate—joins me, Roshni for a conversation that’s part memoir, part manifesto. From the pitch to the boardroom, Janie shares how she’s challenged bias, built bridges, and stayed rooted in purpose—even when the system tried to sideline her.
Expect laughter, legacy, and a few uncomfortable truths about misology and the realities of a single mum juggling so much both on the pitch and off. This isn’t just about sport—it’s about power, visibility, and the courage to rewrite the rules. Janie is such a delightful and open soul and is really a powerhouse of a woman.
I wholeheartedly recommended tuning in if you’ve ever felt underestimated, overlooked, or ready to lead from wherever you stand.
I am including Janie's website for anyone that wants to book her or check her out - you won't regret it!

On this latest episode of Prim Rose Light, what do you get when you blend ancient wisdom, global grit, and a dash of BBC Radio charm? Brahmacharini Shripriya—a Hindu monk, Vedantic teacher, and podcast host whose journey from London academia to Mumbai ashram is anything but ordinary.
Born in Kenya, raised in the UK, and now the resident teacher at Chinmaya Mission UK, Shripriya Ji brings the timeless teachings of Advaita Vedanta into boardrooms, youth retreats, and your podcast feed. Her shows That Heroic Fish and Living Ramayana explore courage, transformation, and the kind of spiritual clarity that doesn’t require incense or Sanskrit fluency.
She’s been featured on BBC Radio 4’s Prayer for the Day, contributed to The Woman Seeker, and—just casually—ran the London Marathon this year. Yes, in robes. Yes, with grace.
In this episode, we dive into:
🏃♀️ What inspired her to run the London Marathon—and what it taught her about the body, mind, and ego.
🧘♀️ How Vedanta helped her push through when her legs said “no” but her spirit said “go”.
🕉️ What Vedanta really is—and how a moment of deep conviction led her to leave academia for spiritual service.
🌱 How to discover your dharma (life’s calling) and whether it evolves over time.
🔍 How to untangle fear, conditioning, and societal expectations from your true self.
🎭 What swadharma means—and why it’s the key to living authentically.
🧠 How to quieten the ego (ours and others’) without losing our voice.
🌈 How to move beyond labels and boxes to live out oneness while celebrating individuality.
Shripriya Ji doesn’t just teach Vedanta—she lives it. With humour, humility, and a whole lot of heart.
Please also find more information for the upcoming yagna with Swamiji - taking place from the 18-22 September 2025 in Wembley totally free of charge and open to all to learn more about the divine feminine.

In this episode on Prim Rose Light I am delighted to have welcomed Sarah Boutros. Sarah and I spent some time talking about boundaries, what is that and why is it so important to put into effect to preserve your well-being. We also talk about emotional safety and how to self-sooth, what is the role of our ego, enmeshment, and how to develop compassion for our parents, who despite creating childhood trauma, did the best they could within their level of consciousness. We all have varying degrees of trauma to work through and in fact, "forgiveness" is a misnomer and gives us an entitlement that we have been victimised by our parents. Let's take the opportunity for our evolution and understand that by needing apologies and to forgive parents or others, only further sustains the illusion of victimhood that life is happening to me and not for me and my development. Hence, the opportunity for us is to rise above without any sense of blame and shame so that we lose the ego and surrender to the learnings, as an observer of life. This point was exceptionally well said by Peter Crone, who I absolutely love as a profoundly wise soul. This also chimes with the Vedantic philosophy which I so deeply resonate with. This concept of oneness and that we are all brothers and sisters, regardless of labels, colour or creed and that we are all part of the infinite.
Sarah Boutros is a dedicated Relationship Coach based in Dubai, specializing in helping women build more secure and healthy relationships. With her own transformative journey going from people pleasing and toxic relationships to finding confidence and building a healthy, committed relationship - Sarah offers a unique and empathetic perspective to her process that is not only rooted in studies but also from her personal experiences. Sarah combines years of training with her personal experiences and insights gained through therapy, plant medicine + hosting personal development workshops for women to create a proven framework to help women level up themselves and their relationships. Her holistic approach addresses both the emotional and physical aspects of well-being, empowering clients to break free from limiting beliefs and create an environment that allows for healthy relationships to thrive in their life.
If anyone would like to reach out to Sarah, please do give her a like, follow and subscribe and feel free to reach out to her with any questions on how she can help support you with your needs. The best way to reach out to her is on her IG:

In this episode of Prim Rose Light, I was thrilled for all you wonderful listeners to hear from the inspiring and radically honest, Aarti Panday. Aarti is from Pune India and is a successful entrepreneur.
Aarti is such a breath of fresh air and calls out some of the toxicity that we all put up with in society, right from the pains we suffer with within our bodies, which whilst may be common, are not normal. We also call out some of the old fashioned and I am going to be honest and say, nonsense that Asian/India culture expects of women, and how we can lean into the Shiva and Shakti elements of a heterosexual relationship to honour both parties. We are complementary, not competing and everyone would do well to remember that.
Driven by passion, Aarti Pandey, 42-year-young and a renowned Hormonal Health Expert, is on an entrepreneurial mission to create a 'PCOS-FREE WORLD' without medication. With over a decade of expertise in health and lifestyle, she founded Freedom from PCOS in 2020, aiming to empower and enable 10 million working women to achieve hormonal balance naturally.
Her journey began with her own struggles with hormonal imbalance postpartum, which fueled her empathy and determination to help others. Today, Aarti leads a vibrant community of over 50,000+ working women.
Aarti’s initiative boasts 3,500+ natural hormonal balancing success stories and over 1,000 natural conceptions. As an award-winning wellness entrepreneur, nothing brings her more joy than seeing working women regain their health, productivity, and happiness, fulfilling their dreams as mothers and professionals.

Welcome to this episode of Prim Rose Light where I am joined by David Koeher. David had an MSc in Psychology. Then worked for a film production company for a year before moving to the Legal 500 where he worked on the guides, wrote of Legal Business and In-House Lawyer Magazine and put together a number of Legal 500 podcast episodes. Then moved to the marketing and business development department at Weil for a year and a half. In January, he set up The Marketing Legal which assists law firms around the world with directories and content marketing and set up The Thinking Legal podcast, which focuses on human and psychological issues in the legal sector. Please do check out his podcast which can be found on all main channels including Spotify and Apple podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-thinking-legal/id1747748757
In this episode we discussed what does it mean to work in legal marketing, how does the study of psychology interact with the law? Are there particular characteristics which demark lawyers and why are DEI so important for law firms and companies to pay attention to. David also talks about his experience as a gay man and how to scan for employers that will be a good fit for people.
In this episode I am delighted to be joined by Clare Beresford. Clare and I both love speaking on psychology and all things people and culture. As such, it was a joy to discuss what is good culture, learning more about the work that is happening in the 30% club for DEI especially seeking gender parity and encouraging minority groups to shine. We also discussed how to thrive in a professional setting, but also dispel that its ok, to just be ok, and enforce boundaries (whether you work in law or otherwise)! There is room for all professions to thrive and we must make it our mission to welcome all to take some responsibility. This will have a profound impact on morale and wellbeing, as well as aiding in productivity. We also discuss what does good leadership look like, what is the difference between mentorship and sponsorship as well as how you can find your champions.
By way of background, Clare is the Chief Executive Officer, having joined the business in 2015 when Laurence Simons was part of the Five Ten Group. She led the Management Buy-Out (MBO) from private equity in 2018. Her role is a combination of hiring the right talent across all functions and departments at LS, identifying new areas of opportunity for our business, and meeting with clients and candidates, old and new. She supports on certain senior in-house searches although her main focus is in the private practice partner search world. She has particular interest in diversity, equity and inclusion, and was invited to join the 30% Club back in 2015. She is also a Fellow of St. Georges Society of Leadership Fellows, based at Windsor Castle, and established by the late Duke of Edinburgh. She is a member of the advisory boards of Thompson Reuters TWLIL and fundraising board of Support Through Court (previously the Personal Support Unit).
If anyone feels inspired and would like to reach out to Clare or a member of her team to support with any recruitment conversations, please feel free to email her on: clare.beresford@laurencesimons.com
