In this episode, I am joined by four members of KICC Ghana who share their personal faith journeys and discuss the upcoming Maxout Youth Conference.
Maxout is an annual youth conference hosted by KICC Ghana. This year's conference will be held from July 18th through the 20th.

In today's episode, Pieter Valk, LPC, shares his experience wrestling and growing through tensions over his sexual orientation and faith, as well as some necessary considerations for individuals seeking therapy.
Dr. Dareen Basma, Ph.D., LPC-MHSP (Carnegie Mellon University and Palo Alto University) joins me in today's episode to discuss what is a fairly recent research phenomenon, Transgenerational Trauma. Transgenerational Trauma is a psychological concept concerning the usually unintentional passing down of trauma across generations — by way of socialization — following prolonged or repeated exposure to triggers.
Dr. Basma is a therapist with the Counseling and Psychological Services at Carnegie Mellon University and a remote core faculty at Palo Alto University. Her research interests include Multicultural & Immigrant Experiences and Trauma; she has quite a number of published works in these areas.
