#56 – Christmas Special: The Big Freeze (S7.0)
This week on Poplar Opinion we're talking about the season seven Christmas Special of Call the Midwife. That’s the Christmas special that comes after season six and before season seven. On this episode, Poplar has the coldest winter in centuries (I said on the podcast it was “in decades” but fact-checking during editing shows that I undersold it). While everyone copes with the cold, Val has a patient who is worried because her boyfriend isn’t her baby’s father, and Sister Julienne takes care of a recent widow with a painful past. Note: in this episode we call one the characters “Althea” throughout. We had a conversation about whether it was “Althea” or “Anthea” that we cut out of the edit for being boring, but it turns out that the name we landed on was wrong. It’s Anthea! Oops! We will be taking a short break before beginning season seven properly, but not a long one! Send us your thoughts, and if you’d like to share a birth story we’ll read it in a minisode between seasons!
