#149. How to Overcome Fear and Own the Stage: Public Speaking Tips for Women with Amber Daughn

In this encouraging episode of Pockets of Knowledge, host Desiree Stanley welcomes back returning guest Amber Daughn—event strategist, business consultant, and founder of Women On Stage Collective—for an inspiring deep dive into women’s visibility, public speaking, and claiming your voice. Amber shares the journey behind her latest passion project, the Women On Stage Collective, a multi-tier speaker development program designed to help women overcome the inner and outer barriers to taking the stage. From tackling perfectionism and imposter syndrome to navigating the practical challenges of booking speaking engagements, Amber opens up about why so many capable, experienced women hold themselves back—and how to start changing that.

Together, Desiree and Amber explore why women often hesitate to claim the title of “speaker” and how a mindset shift can change everything. They discuss the importance of taking imperfect action, redefining confidence, and recognizing that lived experiences can become powerful messages worth sharing. Amber offers valuable tips for crafting your signature talk, connecting with the right audience, and building momentum through community. She also shares how the Women On Stage Collective provides a clear, supportive path from self-doubt to stage presence.

Whether you're brand new to public speaking or already stepping into the spotlight, this conversation delivers actionable advice, heartfelt encouragement, and a reminder that your voice truly matters. If you’ve ever felt a pull to share your story—but didn’t know where to start—this episode is your gentle push forward.
