Hi Friend,
Are you tired of waking up every morning to the same health problems, aches and pills, or have seen loved ones suffer from chronic diseases and want to change your path? You’re now plant-based curious or ready to start your transition, but that’s where you’re stuck.
You don’t know how you’ll move away from a carnivore-style diet with meat-heavy mains, and wonder if this change is even DOABLE with a busy schedule working, taking care of the home, or looking after grandkids. You’ve tried to research online but find the flood of information and new plant-based terms overwhelming, and don’t know what’s credible. Most of all, you’re afraid it’ll be expensive, you’ll lack nutrients like protein and that it’ll take hours in the kitchen to make bland tasteless meals. If this sounds like you, I want you to know that you’re in the right place!
Welcome to the ‘Plant Based Eating Made Easy’ podcast. I’m your host, Anna - a master’s level plant-based Registered Dietitian and Transition Coach - with 20 years of dietetics experience. I’m also the Founder of PlantNourished and an award-winning recipe creator. I’ve watched friends and close loved ones suffer and families torn apart by health problems like sudden heart attacks and cancer. Diabetes, high blood pressure, multiple cancer diagnoses, and heart problems all run in my extended family. And having gone through my own plant-based diet transition feeling lost with no guidance or support, I know just HOW challenging this transition can be – especially if you’ve been used to a ‘meat and potatoes’ diet for most of your life. But through my transition experience, I’ve now developed a simpler and easier method to move to plant-based eating – one that I can’t wait to share with you!
I’m on a MISSION to simplify plant-based eating for you so you can transform your health the stress-free way. This podcast will give you top tips, simple strategies, uncomplicated recipes and real-life guidance so you can easily begin a plant-powered lifestyle. I’ll address potential transition challenges, and provide clear nutrition guidance from my plant-based dietitian expertise, so you can fast-track your way to thriving health. I’ll give you practical solutions on how to make a seamless transition along with inspiration, motivation and real-life stories to show you the health benefits that a whole food plant-based lifestyle can bring.
I’m here to help you gain more energy to keep up with the grandchildren, drop unwanted pounds, optimize your nutrition and regain your health through whole plant-based foods. Together we’ll build you a life with less chronic disease, pills and side effects, so you can truly live your BEST life now with the people you love.
So, if you’re tired of going at it alone, and are ready for clear guidance and straight talk, grab your favorite cup of tea or pop me in your earbuds as you walk, and let’s dive into the amazing world of whole plant-based foods together. Moving from a heavy meat-and-processed-foods diet to better health shouldn’t be difficult or complicated. Let me show you how doable and stress-free moving to plant-based eating can be!
Wishing you the best health,

It’s time to check in with my guest Winnona Yi, who first appeared on this podcast when she was just 3 months into her plant-based diet transition. How is she doing now, more than a year later? Recall that prior to this dietary change, she had been eating a regular diet heavy in fast foods, and had many health problems including a skin condition called hidradenitis suppurativa, as well as high cholesterol and type 2 diabetes.
But after she moved to a whole food plant-based diet, her health and her life changed…drastically. And one year later, there are even more positive changes, especially in terms of needing to take less meds and more weight loss. Walk away inspired after listening to this first part of my interview with Winnona in her Follow-Up Guest Interview!

Are you starting a plant-based diet but worry about getting enough iron? All your life, you’ve been on a meat-heavy diet and the idea of getting anemia has never crossed your mind. But now when you talk to someone about going plant-based, one of the first questions they tend to ask is, “Won’t you get low iron eating vegan?” Perhaps even your doctor has raised this concern.
So what’s the deal on iron? Do you need to worry about it on a plant-based diet…or not? In this episode, let’s answer this question. We’ll look at whether you need to be concerned about getting low iron levels when you move to a plant-based diet, and discuss good plant-based sources of iron you can include into your meals. I’ll meet you on the inside!

In this episode, I want to tell you about a KEY mistake that many people often make – specifically in the fresh produce department – which can end up costing you quite a bit over time. Are you thinking of making a plant-based diet change but worry that you’ll then need to take all these EXTRA dietary supplements or you won’t get enough nutrition? Like vitamin B12 – isn’t that a nutrient all vegans and vegetarians need to supplement with, but others don’t?
Well yes and no. Let’s talk about this on today’s podcast. In this episode, we’ll look at the importance of vitamin B12, possible signs and symptoms of deficiency, and see if vitamin B12 is a vitamin only vegans and plant-based eaters need to be concerned about, or if it is a nutrient we ALL need to be conscious of, even if we’re on a regular diet. Are you plant-based curious or ready to get started with plant-based eating, but feel lost and confused by all the different terms you see? It doesn’t help either that terms like ‘vegan’ and ‘plant-based’ are often used interchangeably on social media, news media channels, in cookbooks, and by celebrities. And what about the other terms you’ve seen - like vegetarian, pescatarian and whole food plant-based – are these one and the same?
Navigating the plant-based world can seem scary, especially if you’ve been used to your current way of eating for so long. But it can be infinitely harder to get started if you don’t even have a clear understanding of what plant-based eating is in the first place and how to best eat for health.
In today’s episode, I break down key plant-based diet terms and make them simple to understand, so you can get absolute clarity on them to start your plant-based diet journey with confidence. I’ll also show you the BEST way to eat so you can have true success and real health transformation through plant-based eating. Let’s lift any fog and confusion you may have around plant-based diets, so you can move forward and reach your health and weight goals faster with ease!

My husband once told me that it’s getting too expensive to eat plant-based, mainly because he saw the rising prices of plant-based milks at our local grocery store. But then I started to list some of many other ways we were saving money eating this way. What I didn’t get to tell him, though, was this: there are also lots of strategies that can be used when buying plant-based foods to stay on budget, and smart hacks to help extend your fresh produce and minimize food wastage. These will stretch your shopping dollars so you can save more money in the long run!
So how do you do that with green beans? In this episode, I’ll share the results of an experiment I did last Fall to figure out the best ways to store green beans after bringing them home from the store, so you can get the most out of them with less waste. So, if you want to learn one smart way to make eating plant-based on a budget doable…even with rising food prices, join me on the inside!
