Az Európai Pro Bono Hét és a 16 Akciónap a Nők Elleni Erőszak kampány keretében a PILnet kerekasztal beszélgetést szervezett, amelyen Mészáros Antóniával a UNICEF Magyarország gyermekjogi szervezet ügyvezető igazgatójával, dr. Spronz Júliával jogvédő, ügyvéddel a Patent Egyesület nőjogi szervezettől, és dr. Mezei Péter ügyvéddel a Baker & McKenzie ügyvédi irodától a családon belüli erőszak és a gyermekbántalmazás áldozatainak nyújtott hatékony jogi segítségnyújtásról és a jogi pro bono szerepéről ebben, különösképpen most a COVID járvány idején.

Housing has become the front line defence against the coronavirus. Home has rarely been more of a life or death situation,” said Leilani Farha, then UN Special Rapporteur on the right to adequate housing in March 2019.
Following her tenure as a Special Rapporteur, now as the Global Director of The Shift, a human rights lawyer herself, Ms Farha has a long history of advocacy around the right to adequate housing globally. Her work is driven by the principle that housing is a basic human right and a social good, not a commodity.
At this session that was recorded at the PILnet Global Forum 2020, Judit Geller senior legal officer of PILnet is interviewing Ms Farha on her experience and work in describing the impact of Covid-19, the legal responses and the paramount importance of having a safe home during the pandemic. The session discusses how international human rights law can be used to hold governments accountable for their failure to provide adequate housing to all and how pro bono lawyers can contribute to this work.
