In 2011, one of the 1,067 Palestinians released in exchange for a single captive Israeli soldier was Yahya Sinwar, who planned the October 7, 2023 massacre of 1,200 Israelis. We also discuss the warning by the Bank of England this week of a looming economic crash triggered by over investment in artificial intelligence. The AI bubble is now about four times larger than the subprime mortgage crisis of 2008 that nearly collapsed the global financial system. It’s estimated that generative AI now accounts for 40 percent of US gross domestic product—meaning when this bubble pops, the American economy (and, presumably, the world’s) goes with it. IT APPEARS Hamas has accepted President Trump’s 20-point plan for peace in Gaza. We say “appears” because Hamas said nothing in its formal acceptance about demilitarizing, and it insists on a role in governing Gaza after Israel withdraws. Both points are key for Israel, the US, and the Palestinian Authority, which holds no love for Hamas. The plan calls for security in Gaza to be provided by 5,000 Palestinians who’ve been training in Egypt in recent months, who will be joined by Palestinian police officers currently training in Jordan—which means there have been plans in the works for the handover of Gaza from Israel to Palestinians. Per i24 News (https://www.i24news.tv/en/news/israel-at-war/artc-after-israeli-withdrawal-gaza-to-be-patrolled-egypt-trained-palestinian-security-forces-i24news-told): The security forces will operate under the supervision and management of a Gaza Management Committee that will include 15 Palestinian technocrats, who will operate under the guidance of the Gaza Management Council, which will be led by Tony Blair, which itself will operate within the framework of the mandate given to it by the Governing Council, which will be led by President Trump. Will peace last? We’re skeptical. Religious fundamentalists, especially Muslims, don’t give up their beliefs easily, and it’s their belief the land of Israel belongs to them. THE FBI’s investigation into the shooting of Charlie Kirk has turned up a disturbing connection to an Antifa-linked group called the John Brown Gun Club. John Brown was a violent Civil War-era abolitionist who believed the institution of slavery could only be purged ”with blood.” His memory has been invoked by a leftist organization linked to Antifa that seeks to militarize the white working class against symbols of what it perceives as oppression—like the police. The Texas-based Elm Fork John Brown Gun Club, the transgender group behind the July 4th shooting at the ICE facility in Alvarado, Texas, co-hosted educational workshops in 2023 with Armed Queers SLC, the Salt Lake City group linked to 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, the alleged shooter of Charlie Kirk on September 10, 2025. The founder of Armed Queers SLC, Ermiya Fanaeian, is a prominent activist in Utah who appeared onstage at a rally for then-presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren in 2019 and posted a video with a colleague about their May Day 2025 trip to Cuba to study revolution alongside Palestinians. THE DEATH of Charlie Kirk Wednesday shocked the world. It was the most high-profile assassination in recent American history. The founder of Turning Point USA was in the middle of an event at Utah Valley University when his life was cut short, allegedly by a shot fired by 22-year-old Tyler Robinson. The response on social media has ranged from grief and anger by those who admired and respected Charlie, and outright joy and celebration by those who interpreted his overtly Christian message as hateful and dangerous. That’s the key to understanding what is otherwise a senseless event. A GROUP called the International Association of Genocide Scholars issued a statement this week declaring that Israel’s war against Hamas met the criteria for genocide. Not so fast. The mainstream media not surprisingly ran with the story, but only the Washington Free Beacon did actual journalism, asking some obvious questions: Who are these people? How does one become a “genocide scholar”? How many people voted on the resolution to declare Israel guilty of genocide? It turns out there are about 600 members in the IAGS, and the only requirement to become a “genocide scholar” is paying a $125 fee. Passing a resolution to declare a genocide only requires a 20% quorum, meaning only 120 members have to vote. In this case, 129 dues-paying members of the IAGS cast ballots on the resolution, which based its findings on statistics provided by Hamas, and that was enough to convince the legacy media like AP, Reuters, Washington Post, and New York Times that Israel is committing genocide. It’s a propaganda war, and Israel is losing. PERCEPTION IS REALITY. That’s an old saying in advertising, but it’s true in life. Sadly, a growing number of us are relying on AI to filter reality for us. If you’re on X (formerly Twitter), you’ve undoubtedly seen somebody post this response to a story: “@Grok, is this true?” Grok is Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence that’s bundled into X. While we can’t point to specific examples of Grok lying about things in the news, it is documented that other AIs such as ChatGPT and Claude have not only lied, threatened its programmers, and hidden its capabilities. And yet we humans are growing more dependent on AI, losing our capacity for critical thinking while trusting in technology that is demonstrably unreliable. This is dangerous enough in, say, a medical setting, where algorithms used for triage can miss red flags that a human performing manual triage would have caught, but it’s especially chilling when AI is filtering information we use to make decisions about the world around us. The former editor of a newspaper linked to the regime in Iran told his 150,000 followers on X last week that Israel’s success in the recent Twelve-Day War was due to its deployment of “the occult and supernatural forces.” This isn’t the first time Israel’s enemies have accused it of secret weapons. In 2015 and again in 2022, Hamas accused Israel of using dolphins as spies and assassins to counter Palestinian frogmen off the coast of Gaza. On a more serious note, we discuss deadly clashes this past week between Druze and Bedouin tribesmen in Suweida, a majority Druze region in southern Syria. The Druze asked Israel for help defending themselves against attacks by the Sunni Bedouins, who may have been aided by the Islamist government in Damascus. Israel responded with airstrikes on regime forces headed south towards Suweida. Sorting truth from propaganda is difficult as both sides, Sunni and Druze, accuse the other of atrocities. With many Druze on Israel’s side of the border, who are respected and valued members of Israeli society, the IDF won’t be giving up the buffer zone it’s established inside Syria anytime soon. We also discuss the anger of President Trump’s base over the non-release of the Epstein files, and how two events this week have flipped the narrative: Trump’s directive to AG Pam Bondi to petition the court to release grand jury transcripts related to the Epstein investigation, and the Wall Street Journal article this week reporting, without evidence, that Trump sent Epstein a crude, salacious birthday letter years ago. The court won’t release the transcripts because grand jury testimony is always secret (and for good reason), but it takes the onus off Bondi for promising to do something she doesn’t have the power to do, and the latest example of the legacy media attacking Trump with fake news reminded his base who the true enemies of democracy are. Also: Elon Musk announces that new Teslas will feature a Grok-powered AI companion. A “SLIDE SHOW STORY” published by The Telegraph in 2009 told a grim story of a coordinated series of terror attacks that resulted in martial law and a new Union of North America. Operation Blackjack trended again on social media a few weeks ago because of the dates in the story, which begins on June 20. We revisit the original account, which (spoilers) laid out a scenario in which horrific false flag attacks are blamed on “Islamists and Christian doomsday cultists” (as if violent Muslims and so-called Christians would work together, but whatever). The remnant of government steps in, cracks down on civil liberties and forms a new government. The story went viral in 2009, but would get even more traction today because social media plays a much larger role in society today than it did sixteen years ago. Add to this volatile social engineering experiment the role of artificial intelligence to manipulate the content we consume (and our growing reliance on AI to tell us whether what we see online is true), and we have a recipe for deception on a global scale. At the time, we wondered about the purpose of a respected legacy media outlet like The Telegraph in publishing something like Operation Blackjack. We asked whether it was a viral marketing campaign for a movie or TV program, a poorly drawn web comic, or a PSYOP. In the years since, we’ve settled on PSYOP.
