Through electricity deregulation, private corporations have taken over electricity for millions of Americans, and endanger their lives in the process. Natural disasters in California and Texas expose the weaknesses of deregulated markets, demonstrating how utility companies are unwilling to provide adequate services to customers. It is time to rethink this model, and transition our thinking towards electricity as a human right.
