It’s still festival and event season in Elkhart County and we’re talking about three upcoming fun ones you won’t want to miss!

On this episode we learn about more about Market Under The Lights, a Pinterest-worthy incredible event happening Saturday, September 30 at The Mill in Middlebury. Chelsea, owner of Joyfully Said, explains how the event began and what you can expect to experience this year.

Then we hear all the details about Garden of Villains at Wellfield Botanic Gardens. Allen from Hall of Heroes talks about all the villains and heroes he'll have out there and how you can be a part of the action at this fun event October 6 and 7.

We wrap up with by taking the yellow brick road all the way to Oz. Tanner from Premier Arts tells us about the fun production of The Wizard of Oz coming to The Lerner stage October 13, 14 and 15.

It’s still festival and event season in Elkhart County and we’re talking about three upcoming fun ones you won’t want to miss!

On this episode we learn about more about the 2nd Annual Bristol Corndog Festival sponsored by the Monogram Foods Loves Kids Foundation to benefit the The Hub: Hearts United for Bristol (formerly The Bristol Food Pantry). Did you know that Bristol, Indiana is the Corndog Capital of the World?! We did and we’re so excited to be celebrating this fun fact on Saturday, September 23.

Then we hear all the details about the Nappanee Apple Festival, happening this weekend (September 14-17)! The festival is home to Indiana's largest 7-foot baked apple pie is known for its family-friendly atmosphere, fun activities and a lot of shopping.

We wrap up with a puppy-filled fun event, Waggin’ in the Woods, happening on September 24. Learn more about the pet-friendly activities, vendors, food and more! Bring your dog for a fun walk through the Environmental Center for the super-cute Pooch Parade where costumes are encouraged and there are prizes for the best-dress pups!

On this episode we learn about more about the 10th Annual Arts on the Millrace event Saturday, September 9, 2023 from Adrienne. Arts on the Millrace is an annual juried event in downtown Goshen, Indiana, along the Millrace Canal starting at Powerhouse Park, featuring local artists and musicians. Art, music, food, and drink make this the perfect day to celebrate the region’s art. Kid-friendly activities make this perfect for the whole family.

Then we chat with Jarrod from The Barns at Nappanee and hear all about Seussical the Musical, the fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza on the Round Barn Stage now until September 23! We learn about character experiences available for all ages and some other fun things happening at The Barns.

On this episode we learn about more about Elkhart's newest distillery, Dragon's Mouth Distillery! Dragon's Mouth is female-owned and produces unique, high-quality spirits, which include, but are not limited to whiskeys and gins. You'll hear all about it from Carrie.

Then we chat with Nina from Wellfield Botanic Gardens and hear all about Taste of the Gardens. This annual fundraiser features fine art, live music and a sampling of the area's best food. You won't want to miss this spectacular event!

We wrap up with Riley from ArtHouse and she tells us all about BYOB Fest ... and it's not what you think it is! This fun new event showcases never before seen Goshen bands ... because they haven't been created yet. Musicians will be put together at random to create a new band in the morning and then perform for an audience that night!

Then chat with Ronda from Elkhart County Parks and she shares more about the various (and stunningly beautiful) parks in Elkhart County and shares what some of her favorite spots are.

We wrap up with MacKenzie from the Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds and she shares what happens the other 356 days of the year when the Elkhart County 4-H Fair isn't happening. You'll be amazed at all the events and fun that happens on those 380 acres!

Episode 83: Stunning live theatre and a delicious fundraiser!

We kick off this episode with Dave and Brock from the Elkhart Civic Theatre, located at the beautiful Bristol Opera House.  Dave and Brock share a bit about The Prom, which is the last show remaining in the 2022-2023 season. But don't fret because they share ALL the excitement about the upcoming 2023-2024 season which includes Sweeney Todd, Finding Nemo, Jr., Clue, a ECT original Well Crafted radio play and so much more! We also talk about The Michael Cripe Studio, the Elkhart Civic Theatre’s annual two-week day camps for area youth. Designed for children from 8 to 18 years of age, the Storytellers’ Theatre camp and the Musical Theatre Fast-track camp at the Bristol Opera House offer many students their first experiences on stage in a close, friendly learning environment.

Then we wrap up with Jim and Amanda from the Boys and Girls Clubs of Elkhart County.  They share information on one of their FUNdraisers, BBQ & Brew Fest. This family-friendly event happens August 5 at the Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds in Goshen and features live music, a kids zone, ax throwing, movie on the big screen and of course mouth-watering burgers and brews!

Then we chat with Tanner from Premier Arts and he shares all the fun happening this year with Elkhart ArtWalk - free, self-guided, public event in Downtown Elkhart on the last Thursday of the month from April to October from 5-8pm. Enjoy the NEW Art Showcase and Artisan Marketplace on Civic Plaza along with a FREE concert on the Central Park Green presented by Friends of the Lerner. Episode 79: The minor league is #INElkhartCo plus fun curbside concerts and a stunning 50th anniversary!

Baseball is America’s favorite pastime, and for a good reason. There’s something about the sound of a bat hitting a ball, the smell of freshly cut grass, and the excitement of a close game that brings people together. But what’s even more fun than watching a baseball game? Being able to see a brand-new team kick off their season right here in Elkhart County. We kick off this episode hearing from Elkhart County Miracle President and team founder Craig Wallin. He tells us about all the fun things planned for this season and who we can see throwing out some of the first celebratory pitches of the season.

Then we learn more about the Elkhart Public Library's Curbside Concerts from Trevor Wendzonka, the chief marketing officer for the Elkhart Public Library. Curbside Concerts this spring are all about reunions, good music, great friends and as always, these concerts are free. Trevor explains that bands play on the roof, so bring camp chairs and watch from their parking lot.

We wrap up this episode celebrating Ruthmere's 50th anniversary and learning more about the fun things they have planned for this entire year. Episode 78: History and heritage in the sky and on the ground #INElkhartCo

In this episode, we talk to Andy Jones, Elkhart Municipal Airport Manager for the city of Elkhart. Andy tells us all about the air show and WWII reenactment “Salute to Veterans World War II” event that will be held on May 20 and May 21 at the Elkhart Airport. It’s a big deal for Elkhart as the last air show was held 17 years ago and it's jam-packed with a lot of fun, exciting, historical and just simply cool things all weekend! We asked him what spectators will see and we talked all about German Tanks, Corsairs, P51 Mustangs, Multiple Stunt Planes, a General George Patton Impersonator, a 1942 Douglas C-53 Skytrooper with in Uniform crew, AND MORE.

Then we chat to Courtney Franke, mill manager at Bonneyville Mill County Park, located in Bristol. He explains the history and heritage behind the Mill at Bonneyville, the process of making flour at the mill and how you may just be greeted with the smell of freshly baked goods when you visit.

Episode 77: Food, artisan markets and pottery right here #INElkhartCo

In this episode, we talk to Cami and Michelle with Visit Nappanee and they share all of the fun planned for Taste of Nappanee and Spring Artisan Market. This annual event, held outside on the beautiful grounds of The Barns at Nappanee, is a fantastic way to experience a number of the exciting restaurants and businesses that make Nappanee their home. Businesses set up booths and give guests a "taste" of what they have to offer. You can enjoy samples of food from many of Nappanee's eateries, bakeries, and more! In addition, over 60 local artisans will have booths set up to share and sell their handcrafted items. Live music by Big Daddy Dupree will fill the grounds of The Barns while you celebrate all things Nappanee!

Then we chat with Trevor Daugherty, a studio potter in Goshen and executive director and co-founder of the Northern Indiana Clay Alliance. Trevor shares about how the NICA's mission centers around providing opportunities for regional artists while preserving the 300-year history of clay in northern Indiana (because, guess what - there is a scientific reason northern Indiana has so many great potters!). We kick off this episode with Dave and Brock from the Elkhart Civic Theatre, located at the beautiful Bristol Opera House.  Dave and Brock share a bit of their history with ECT including how Brock, at the age of 11, was cast as a Munchkin in The Wizard of Oz and has loved working with the team at ECT since.  They talk about the shows remaining in the 2022-2023 season including a Broadway hit nominated for three Tony Awards including Best Musical, A Year with Frog and Toad and the hilarious and deeply touching production of Steel Magnolias.

Then we chat with Jamison from the City of Elkhart Parks Department.  He gives us the details about the Spring Fabulous Pop Up Market at McNaughton Pavilion happening this weekend.  He also talks about the fun Easter Egg hunt happening the entire month of April through several of the city parks and we learn more about the Farmer's Market that starts May 6.
