Emotions are very powerful, they can set us up for success or failure. Studies have shown that people with high Emotional Intelligence have greater mental health, job performance, and leadership skills
Having a high IQ is not a determinant of success, a lot of people with high IQs are not doing too well, some of them are not successful in their fields of endeavor neither am I saying that having high emotional quotient EQ will make you successful however it is essential that you have peace of mind, which will enable you to focus and drive the parameters of success you have set for yourself.

Don’t let yourself be intimidated by individuals who don’t look like you and might be dominating the space you are trying to enter,” a quote by Nicholas Johnson, the 2020 Princeton University’s first black valedictorian is the basis for today’s podcast. We discussed the SMARTER goal setting approach with regards to this quote. This approach was adopted by my church, God’s Favourite House, Lagos for setting yearly goals. Goals are very important in life; they serve as light to illuminate the path or direction we wish to attain. Goals help us to set a course in life and move towards achieving it. We need to get the foundation right, for it to serve as a strong base for the things we intend to build on it. Is your foundation set on soil or strong, concrete base? What are the feelings or emotions holding you back from setting goals or targets in life? This podcast will assist you to set strong goals that you will be motivated to achieve. Today’s podcast will serve as an introduction, as we intend to dig deeper into each of the steps in the SMARTER goal setting approach in future podcasts.
