We began the episode discussing food choices. Raised in a vegetarian household, my entire education was in a catholic school and I began eating meat at a very young age. We don't make meat at home (we make egg) and over the years, my thoughts on meat have changed. I went from having meat whenever the opportunity presented itself to seeing a couple of vegan documentaries on Netflix and having mixed feelings about eating meat.
Aarnav and Anuraag have both tried meat and Anuraag seems to be following in my footsteps when it comes to experimenting with meat.
When you're raised in a vegetarian household, trying meat can invoke many feelings. Guilt. Curiosity. Doubt. In this episode, we have a freewheeling discussion on food and food choices.
In November 2018, Aarnav and Anuraag's paternal grandfather passed away at the age of 93. So after a freewheeling discussion on food, the episode assumed a bit of a somber tone where we discussed the influence of our grandparents and the role they played in our lives.
I hope you have as much fun listening to it as we did recording it.
In our second skype episode, we talk about our recent trip to the wonderful island country of Sri Lanka. We also discuss why Aarnav and Anuraag, who in spite of being bought up in a Tam Brahm house where curd is on par with oxygen, neither of them took a liking to it. We also touch upon the recent spot-fixing scandal that has hit cricket and taken with it Shakib al Hasan, arguably the best all-rounder in cricket today. Happy listening.
P.S - Anuraag tuned out halfway through the show. But Aarnav saved the day.
In a bid to increase the frequency of episodes, we attempted our first Skype interview. Aarnav didn't turn up as he watching some inconsequential football match. This meant it was only Anuraag who, after the ten minute mark, started getting bored. He speaks about why he is enjoying school this year, why he prefers cricket over football, and why he supposedly lost interest in drawing.
The audio quality isn't that great as there was a microphone only at my end.
But we hope to sort that out soon and have more episodes!
Happy listening!
