How will you respond when the "ask" by Jesus gets tough? Look at John 6 and the encounter with the crowd.

n John 8, a woman caught in the act of adultery was drug before Jesus in order to trap Him into saying something that would get the crowds against Him... how he responds is nothing short of amazing grace. Have you encountered this grace?

In John 5, Jesus encounters a man who has been disabled for 38 years and asks him a simple question... DO YOU WANT TO BE HEALED?

In John 4:46-54 we see an encounter between Jesus and a Royal Official where the Official's son is dying. The man begs Jesus to come but in vs 50 Jesus says, Go, your son will live... and the man goes at the Word of Jesus. His Word is Enough, isn't it?

In John 3 and 4 we see two different people's encounters with Jesus that result in two different reactions. Jesus is the Living Water - come to Him and thirst no more.

In John 1 we see Nathanael introduced by Phillip to Jesus with three simple words... COME AND SEE.

We are ambassadors of Christ. We are chosen. We are called. We are commissioned to represent His Kingdom on Earth. Live boldly. Love deeply. Steward your life with purpose for the glory of God.

Proverbs 30:7-9 asks for balance... Two things I ask of you; don’t deny them to me before I die: Keep falsehood and deceitful words far from me. Give me neither poverty nor wealth; feed me with the food I need. Otherwise, I might have too much and deny you, saying, “Who is the Lord?” or I might have nothing and steal, profaning the name of my God.

Proverbs 14:16-17 - A wise person is cautious and turns from evil, but a fool is easily angered and is careless. A quick-tempered person acts foolishly, and one who schemes is hated. Proverbs has a lot to say about anger and wrath.

The pitfall of Sloth isn't like the rest... every other pitfall seems to be about doing the wrong thing... the pitfall of Sloth is about not doing the right thing.

Avoiding the Pitfall of Lust - Proverbs 23:26-28 What does LUST do to you and why is it deadly?

Greed. Covetousness. Avarice. All words that the Bible will use to describe the human desire for more. Greed falls into the same category of lust and gluttony where we are not content in God and what He has provided... we trust in ourselves instead of Him and we lack gratitude towards God and fall into a trap that Proverbs warns us about. Proverbs 11:24-28 Greed is not about how much you own... it is about what owns you.

Proverbs gives us great wisdom in how to navigate the pitfall of pride... plenty of verses point it out - today's focus - Proverbs 16:18-20

Does your Salvation depend on you? Proverbs 3:5-6 - Psalm 119:113 - I hate those who are double-minded, but I love your instruction.

As we navigate this thing called life, we must avoid the pitfalls that come our way. Proverbs talks about at least seven of them... envy, gluttony, greed, lust, pride, laziness and wrath - Today, we talk about ENVY Proverbs 14:30 - A tranquil (a sound, content, righteous) heart is life to the body, but jealousy (or envy) is rottenness to the bones.

What does a life of integrity look like and how does that life affect others... especially the next generation?
