E10 Pistol Packin’ Mamas - City of Darkness, City of Light part 3

What would you do if your family couldn’t eat? If you had been promised someone would listen to you and you were still starving months, years later? How far do the extremes go when it’s your life on the line?  Dire and extreme situations flamed the flames of the French Revolution, and in many places women led the way.  Our characters find themselves facing former allies in an attempt to bring about a Republic in France.  Violence reigns supreme, and things are only just beginning to swing into bloody action.

Our current book is City of Darkness, City of Light by Marge Piercy, an historical fiction novel using real people from the French Revolution as the main characters.  This is one of those complex topics that lead to the kinds of conversations people from the Enlightenment period would still recognize.  Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité were the words that drove the revolution, but for who and for how long?
