Happy Halloween everyone! Kevin and Annie talk about the overwhelm of the holiday especially as Annie puts way too much effort into her kid's Halloween costume and Kevin tries to get work done everywhere even at the swim meet.

We're going to keep the pod a little more organized. On this pod, Kevin talks about having to give up caffeine and take it easier on the weekends. Also he shares his Struggle Bus of fear of missing out on kid events now that he has a new 9-5 while Annie is put in the Overcommitment Corner for taking on a giant holiday project a week and half before Halloween.

Kevin had an eventful, Hobbit filled birthday and Annie discovers exactly how alike she and her daughter are. Also follow your passions, whether it be LOTR LCG's or reality show podcasts, no matter how cringe you fear they are!

Kevin starts his first week of a new job and Annie tries to do it all in her new role as a SAHM. Kids are practicing more independence which is a mixed bag and Kevin is soon turning 41. Happy birthday Kevin!

It's almost spooky season and Annie is mad we haven't decorated yet. And we got to go to a friend's wedding with our kids, which was fun and makes us amend our previous statements. And finally, Kevin is going back into an office and experiencing some understandable trepidation.

Annie took the kids to the aquarium and yelled at them for not taking her to the bathroom. Kevin and Annie talk about not wanting your kids to make friends on vacation and we celebrate Bilbo and Frodo's birthday. Also, Kevin deals with an Adderall shortage, while Annie is dealing with feelings that she's not the fun parent.

Annie is desperately craving Fall or some kind of change. Meanwhile, swim meets are back and Kevin and Annie are starting to get the hang of the swim parent life. We talk about feeling antisocial or introverted around other parents and Kevin has a big incident with the kids that has him doing the old school parent yell “Both of you…on the couch!”

On this episode, we chat about being aware of your space as a man, exercise being good for your mental health...apparently, not doing our own research and we get a rare opposite of "Burned by Your Kid" - a compliment!

Thanks to everyone who came out to our story time at Chevaliers and who came to see the Dumb Dads Live at Dynasty Typewriter. We recap these events and talk about another week back in school. Our daughter runs for student council and we can't help but try to write some jokes into her speech. We're back to school and the kid's energy is insane. Plus, Annie turned 42, but didn't feel much like celebrating and we start to be on the lookout for school bullying.

The kids have officially gone back to school and we overshot the first morning with lembas bread, crepes and friendship bracelets.

It's almost back to school and we just finally took our kids' end of year photos. Annie worries about her kids acting out at an LAFC game and we talk about giving kids privacy. Also back to school shopping is everyone's favorite time!

We finally went on a date and we still like each other! We escaped an escape room and then helped our youngest escape his recent screen addiction. Turns out all it took was...trying a little bit harder. Kevin went to see Fantastic Four with our oldest and the only part she hated was the birth scene, which led us into talking about not filming our own birth...did you film yours?

Trying to make the most of our last summer weeks, we're going away for the weekend and going to enjoy our first date in awhile. Kevin attends the "Freakier Friday" premier and it's got him thinking about the upcoming teenage years, while Annie and Kevin lament the trend of "enjoy every minute" parenting. And with the end of summer, we've got to figure out our kids sleep routine again. 

A big week for the Laferriere fam. We took a fun camping trip with our extended family to a creek in Ojai, our youngest lost his tooth and our oldest found out the truth about the person who takes teeth and delivers money. Plus another installment of "Burned by your kids."

We took an eventful and weirdly stressful trip to Ventura and the Ventura flea market. Any other victims of decision fatigue out there? We talk about accidentally/on purpose scaring our kids and Annie's new unemployment.

Kevin updates on his Adderall journey. We talk summer camp, taking down birthday decorations and Kevin introduces a new segment "Burned by Your Kid."

Kevin's starting a journey with Adderall and Annie struggles with the kids going to summer camp. Also the 9 year old has a birthday at Michael's Craft Store that goes off without a hitch, at least as far as she knows.

School's out, Annie got her boobs checked and Kevin got an oil change (that's not a euphemism.) Also we talk about our oldest cursing, our youngest graduating kindergarten and big feelings!
