Not long after graduating, Lieutenant Commander Emily Winans, Pharm.D., a pharmacist and commissioned officer in the United States Public Health Service (USPHS) got a job doing just that! Dr. Winans graduated from West Virginia University in 2011 and, after a brief stint working the community setting, commissioned as an officer in the USPHS. The USPHS is one of the eight uniformed services in the United States government, tasked with promoting the health and safety of the country.
