Today I chat to Lucy Jane who started off as a young fashion blogger in Manchester to now being a prominent advocate for stoma awareness after being diagnosed with ulcerative colitis and opting to have surgery and live with a stoma bag at just 19. Six years on, we talk about the challenges of living with a stoma bag, how she is breaking down the stigma, and how her experiences have shaped her confidence and approach to fashion. We also reflects on Lucys dating life post-surgery, her experience on the show First Dates, and her aspirations to raise awareness for chronic illnesses through her platform.
Lucy is so lovely and what she’s doing to raise awareness and shout about being sexy and fashionable even with a visible difference is exactly what I’m all about so sit back, grab a cuppa and enjoy.

In this episode, I discusses the complexities of dating and sex after cancer treatment. I share my personal experiences - aka my datings disasters - the challenges faced by so many women, and my "advice" on overcoming some of these issues. Please note, I am not an expert, I just like to pretend I am, I've literally had sex once since cancer but I have talked ALOT about it so that makes me a pro right.... The conversation highlights the importance of communication, understanding your own body, and the need for open discussions about sexual health in a world that often overlooks the needs of cancer survivours.

In this episode I chat to Dr Sarah Welsh, co-founder of HANX, a sexual wellness brand that actually knows what women want and need. No thrush inducing lube here!
We talk about about outdated stigmas and misconceptions surrounding sex, self pleasure with their sex toy Cindy (who is a dream btw) and tips on how to get your groove back after cancer.
You guys know by now I love talking about sex, even though I never have it, and HANX is such a great brand for breaking down the barriers and embracing the weird and awkward. Not only are their products great but they host adult sex education sessions and have a whole section of their website (Naked Truths) dedicated to honest conversations on every topic imaginable, including menopause.
So sit back, grab a cuppa and I hope you enjoy this episode!

This week I've had so much going on I haven't managed to get the new episode ready. It's so hard being a one woman show... (it's not just that I'm a chaotic mess). So with that being said I have rehashed an old episode for a fun Throw Back Thursday edition of OLOT.
The sound quality is worse, but the chat is the same realness you'd expect. Plus you get to hear Kates voice again so isn't that a treat!
Anyway, we discuss our sex (or lack of) lives and how hard it is to regain confidence in the bedroom after a cancer diagnosis. This topic is something I find fascinating because literally no one talks about it. It's like no one wants to think about other people having sex. Especially if you've had cancer.
I hope you all enjoy and as always feel free to like, comment, and subscribe!

In this Episode I chat to Erin and Sam Kennedy. Erin is a Cox for Team GB, a 2x Paralympic Rowing Champion and somewhat of a celebrity in the rowing world. Sam is a celebrity in his own right and is the nicest human ever. I do liken him to Pedro Pascal but Sam didn't know who that was so what a wasted compliment... Anyway, Erin was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer in 2022 just 6 months after me. We chat all things rowing, the importance of exercise during and after cancer, and what it's like dealing with a love ones diagnosis.
We also talk about how nerdy we were at school as me and Erin go wayyyy back to the days of secondary school.
They're both so lovely and so inspiring so I really hope you enjoy!

Today’s episode is a little different. I’m joined by Dani, host of The Menopause After Cancer Podcast and instead of recording two separate interviews, we decided to do something special: one shared episode, released across both our shows.
Dani is a fellow cancer survivor, menopause advocate, and the founder of the UK’s only non-profit supporting people going through treatment-induced menopause. We dive into the stuff that really matters - the physical changes, the emotional impact, menopause, identity, and what it means to rebuild after cancer.
So whether you’re here from my side or Danis, welcome! I'n super glad you're here, and I hope you enjoy.

In this episode I'm chatting to the lovely Lydia Reeves, a female body casting artist from Brighton.
I got my chest cast after my mastectomy in her studio and had the most magical time! I've had my ups and downs with my body image after cancer and I know a lof you listening will feel the same. Whether you've had a visible change, gained wight on steroids, or simply just don't trust your body anymore. You're not alone.
Lydia advocates for self acceptance in everything she does so I just had to get her on the podcast. We chat how growing up in the 90's warped our view of what women should look like (anyone remember the circle of shame?), her own journey of self acceptance, and how she empowers women to accept themselves through her art.
I got to go down to Brighton to record in her studio so apologies if you hear seagulls but I personally love the sound. Anyway I hope you enjoy!

This episode is a little different as I speak to my best friend Fraser - who you may remember from such stories as 'the head lick incident' - about what it's like when someone you're close to gets diagnosed with cancer.
Fraser is super in touch with his emotions and has some powerful insights.... lol JK it's really just 45 mins of us chatting pure shit and Fraser saying how he wasn't really that bothered by my cancer. More of an inconvenience for him really.
Anyway it's a really funny episode, you're gunna love Fraser, and there are moments of reflection and advice, albeit fleeting...

In this episode, I’m joined by the gorgeous human being that is Georgie Swallow - the queen of saying "yes" to life. We chat about her Life's for Living adventures, finding joy in the little things, dating with a changed body (and changed outlook), and inexplicably, sharks... From awkward Hinge encounters (mainly mine) to radical self-love, Georgie reminds us that life after cancer can be bloody fantastic!

So... what happens to your sex life after cancer? Spoiler alert, it’s complicated, but definitely not over.
In this episode, we sit down with the brilliant Billy Quinlan to talk about boob(s), scars, lube, awkward - but shouldn't be- chats, and what it really means to feel sexy after a life-altering diagnosis. Billie is a sex and intimacy coach, the CEO and co-founder of The Ferly Method, and now author of her brand new book, Turn Yourself On. In this episode we unpack the myths around sex post-cancer, how to reconnect with your body, and why pleasure isn’t a luxury, it’s a right. Cancer may change things, but your desire for connection (and maybe a really good orgasm) doesn’t have to disappear.

Guess who's back? It’s me and only me. Kate’s gone, from the podcast, not life, but RIP to our co-hosting era.
Season 3 is here and I'm diving headfirst into the wild world of life after cancer, where the scans are clear (touch wood) but nothing else feels normal. We’re talking sex, dating, menopause, body image, sobriety, and everything in between. Expect the same brutal honesty as always, just with one less host, two less lumps, and much less organisation....

Just bout a year ago Shelley found out she had a place to trek the Himalayas all in the name of breast cancer awareness and CoppaFeel. Over the course of that year she trained her little butt off. lol JK. In true Shelley fashion she left everything to the last minute, went on about 2 training walks, and didn't even know the little rubbery things on the bottom of her walking poles actually came off to reveal the spikes... But also in true Shelley fashion, she cracked on regardless and came away with one hell of an experience, life long friends, a huge sense of purpose, and some very painful knees.
In today's episode we chat all things CoppaTrekking, from fundraising, to (lack of) training, and how to (not so) successfully do a wild poo...
Enjoy!

Todays episode is slightly different becasue Jamie hasn't actually had cancer but she, and many other transgender people, have unique barriers when it comes to cancer screening and health care in general. Jamie takes us on a real deep dive into this really importatn, and often overlooked, topic. we both learned OLOT! See what we did there?
